When changing transmission fluid, are there any additional actions required to drain the fluid in the cooler and cooler lines or does all the fluid drain to the pan? Thanks.

Good question. The fluid is draining out of my GT350R as I type. I guess I fill it up until fluid comes out of the fill hole.

Old thread, so any updates on doing the tranny fluid service as OP asked?

Yes, its in the service manual. Drain, fill, run (idle) the car for a period of time as specified in the manual (I forget the time), and then top it off.

Like I said, the manuals are not that expensive. If you are doing work on your own car, you have to have one.

@AdamIsAdam : RE: what Tomster said, you can buy the OEM manual for relatively cheap.

Factory Manuals (factory-manuals.com)

I use these guys and buy the "deluxe" version since it includes working links - at least for the Ford manuals......for some reason the links don't work in the Subaru manuals....

Give them your VIN, ~ $140, and a couple days later you'll have the 10,000 pg + OEM service manual in *.pdf form.

Apologies if external links aren't allowed

Great! Thanks for the link. I'll order up one now. Does it cover GT350? I don't see it being differentiated in the order section.

Engine - 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 (308kW/418PS)

When I went to 2017, I don't see a deluxe version option and it was only $100.

Hmmm....their writeup makes it sound like all versions are "deluxe" now. Nice to save $40.

yup, but wiring is separate. I skipped that for now. I enjoy reading wiring schematics, but not for $69.
