I had them on display up until my son started to walk, then they went back into their boxes and stored in the garage. I need to bring them back out as he is quite a bit older now. At the time, I paid upwards of $200-300 each for them and would stress out every time he would crawl over to the display case wide eyed trying to open the doors of the cabinet. My wife would say, "they are just toy cars!":cwl:

Also here, I know THE EXACT SAME FEELING!! My son is close to two years old, so all my model cars went into an extra room that is locked all the time.

Read online that this series didn’t make it to the US. Bought this from a guy in France off eBay.

Are there any companies out there that does custom detail work on model cars? I would love to have one that matches my iconic silver car.

I really wish Tamiya would make a gt350R model. I could definitely make you one if there was a model available.

I wish they did. For me, after 2 years they finally release a LeadFoot, but they have stripes. Wish I could order without the stripes.

made the stripes painted on?
Really hard to tell, but I'm guessing they're not painted. I don't think you could remove them very easily - very detailed and matches my real car perfectly.

knowing the quality, yah it would be almost impossible to remove. Damn. I just stick with my red auotart.

I've noticed the opposite overall. Most models are GT350R vice non-R, and nearly all have stripes. Yet, the most common trim is Black, non-R, no stripes. Oh well.

I’m not sure what the stripes are made of but for Hotwheels, the stripes/any decals can be easily removed using a dry erase marker. Does no damage to the paint. Maybe worth a shot?
