GT350 Temperature Comparisons

GT350 w/ Track Pack Coolers vs. 2015/2016 Base and Tech Pack

Can someone post some average temperatures for each configuration under normal cruising conditions and track conditions for:

Axle Oil Temp
Eng. Oil Temp
Trans Oil Temp

I know this information must be in these forums but those with greater experience may have this information readily available.

I know this information must be in these forums but those with greater experience may have this information readily available.

From my experience within the last 11k miles on my 17, my normal operating tempatures are as follows (Based on Oklahoma Winter weather)

Axle Oil Temp - Depends on driving of course, but on average driving around town or on the highway I Have yet to see it get hotter than 160. Tends to stay between 120-140

Engine Oil Temp - Again based on how you are driving and the outside temp, But mine stays around 170-220 Depending on weather. Yesterday it was 86 and I was running the car pretty hard and the oil temp got as high as 232.

Trans Oil temp- I have yet to see my Trans oil temp over 160. It usually stays between 100-140 degrees on the street. I Have yet to track my car sadly.

Engine oil temps will be the same for he different versions; typically low 200's on the street and 245 on the track.

Transmission for tech 190 - 240 on the street and when tracking after about 20 - 30 minutes you will hit limp mode (280)

Rear axle for tech is unknown since there isn't a factory temp readout that works on the dash.

Rear axle for track pack will run about 240 on the track.

Had a 2016 Tech Pack and traded it for a 2017. So you're both right. Surprised at how low the trans temp was. Thanks for your input!

I concur. Axle temps for me are typically higher than the trans for me

The information here is only based on tech/base cars that have had forscan temperatures enabled. The sample size is incredibly small.

Highest i've seen on my poverty pack base Shelby was 210 cruising on the highway in sixth gear at 80mph in 85degrees temp.

Not very reassuring to say the least.

Had a 2016 Tech Pack and traded it for a 2017. So you're both right. Surprised at how low the trans temp was. Thanks for your input!

All things considered, it seems you'd be uniquely positioned to answer your own question (exempting the diff info)..

Yesterday a guy with a '16 Tech reached a trans temp of 316 while tracking and no limp mode.

it was about 78 degrees here yesterday when i went for a cruise, i was averaging about 40-45mph, driving in 3rd/4th most of the time. I was surprised to see that oil temp got up as high as 227. Sometimes i think these gauges make us paranoid, once i noticed it i couldn't stop checking it even though everything was likely fine.
