Drove my GT350 through Lake Berryessa pass yesterday morning. Can't get over the fact how planted the car felt. Brakes were phenomenal! Trail braking into a corner felt great and accelerating out of it felt natural. I am so used to babying the throttle on my M3 for fear of it braking traction thus sending me spinning out of the corner. And of course the exhaust sound bouncing off the mountains was AWESOME!

Can't get enough of that exhaust sound. Will purposely put it in a lower gear, just so I hear the roar of the exhaust. Especially when I'm going through an overpass on the highway.
How completely childish Bob and I would never do that... said no GT350 owner ever...!!!!!

Almost 17k miles on mine! Daily driven for a year and a half, tracked one weekend so far, had my full drumset packed in it twice!, and not burned a lick of oil or given me any issues. I absolutely love this car. I haven't even thought of my camaros other than..."wow, this thing will run circles around them all day long!"

...Iā€™d guess by your Avatar you track both the 911 and GT350?
I'm late here but just noticed your post.

My 911 and GT350 will never see a track. Why? I raced in vintage and some NASA in the 1965 Mustang shown in my avatar. I bought the race ready for $25K and sold it for $25K. I spent $350,000 racing it (in 25 years).

I enjoyed every minute of racing an old car (it was worth it), but racing a new 911 or the GT350 in door-to-door competition would be extra more expensive. You may think it's just track stuff, but it drives you to start racing the car.

Junior Johnson: ā€œThe best way to make a small fortune in racing is to start with a big one.ā€

Peter Egan: "Racing makes a heroin addiction look like a vague wish for something salty".

Just saying.

I've followed Doc in his GT350 in the twisties up in the North Georgia mountain roads... his driving skills are impressive and his actions are really smooth. He makes it look effortless!

Thatā€™s awesome! The way I like to look at it, is some people spend $20K on vacations every year. Some people buy $100K boats that lose value. Both bring joy to some folks, but not me lol.
Iā€™d rather drop $10K a year on tracking a car and cut my vacation fund in half šŸ˜œ

Earlier in my mustang hobby I bought Through time three 1966 Shelby GT 350 Hertz cars, I could have kept two and had to I wonder now if I should buy another Shelby GT 350R and sell my 1974 bronco thatā€™s all restored?? Opinions? Having two would give me options. Iā€™m thinking if I bought correctly, I wouldnā€™t lose anything and would possibly drive them for free?

Guess it depends on the use for the Bronco. I used to have many Mustangs until I saw how little they got driven

I think my PP1 GT was the wrong weapon for the track and debating on dumping more $$$ into it for all 3 coolers (already did suspension/camber/wheels/tires which helped tremendously), or unloading and picking up a different track car. The 911 is obviously the best and most expensive choice, but havenā€™t heard opinions from owners that have both. Whatā€™s your take on the GT350, vs 911? Do you wish you wouldā€™ve went R or S? I understand completely different platforms, and PDK vs 6SPD, but still would like to hear your opinions.
M2C, Cayman 718 GTS, ZL1 LE, C7, GT350, have all been on the radar. Didnā€™t want to send a bunch of $$$ into a wall, but I canā€™t keep the GT from overheating and donā€™t want the slouch of a Miata. Coolers are only another $6K, but Iā€™m still concerned they wonā€™t keep the car cool.
Iā€™m moving in that direction. Mustang GT vs Porsche 718
