When I ordered my GT350 in Sept., my dealer mentioned that he had one 2016 and one 2017 allocation, and that he already had a buyer for the 2017. He has been a little slow with the latest info (rather than spouting speculation), but accurate. So I have the utmost confidence in his intel. I suspect that there will be a 2017 model run.

We're halfway in to the 2016 model year, if you count it as Sept to Aug.

And I've been seeing cars in the 2,400-2,500 range for sale in the past month, so that would put us around 5,000 units for the year.

Example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/252282223764 - chassis # 2,505

I saw a higher # somewhere, but I can't find the link.

The good news, all of the cars I've been seeing actually sell are selling closer to MSRP @ $58k-$63k.

Granted I do see a lot of people asking $10k above MSRP, but its mostly dealers that would rather have the car sit in the showroom to get attention. People come in to look at a GT350 and go home with a GT Performance Pack for a lot less.

The GT350R's are Chassis GRxxx
The GT350's are Chassis Gxxxx

So you can safely assume they R's are going to be limited to max 999 units, since its only 3 digits. Matches up with the 500 estimate.
Where the regulars have room for up to 9,999, though they're probably only going to make the 5,000 estimated. Which also lines up with what Ford made for the GT500's similarly priced and marketed car.

I think the MY doesn't go all the way to Aug (production year is less than 12 months). I think MY 16 production stops in June for the changeover. Someone posted the actual schedule dates for this. You are correct that if it is Sept-Aug (12 mos) and we have 2500 built by mid Feb (~5.5 mos in), that should scale to around 5455 total. If however, if it ends in June (10 months), then 2500 by mid Feb scales to around 4545. Still close to the 5000/500, but a little less. Reality will probably be somewhere in there, in spite of any wishes for it to be less. ...Who knows, we will just have to wait and see. I want to know that number too, but what I really want is my car.:ford:

I never said production goes until August, it stops around June/July. But then deliveries of these cars in manufacturing, still goes on until August. It takes time for the cars to get built, tested & distributed.

So I personally think they're right on their target.

Thinking about how there are probably chassis #'s 2,700-2,800 on trains & trucks heading out to dealerships right now. Look at how knay cars are for sale that say dealer ordered, eta next week, etc.

You don’t want to know
Ford is now building GT 350s with VINs around 3,500. Of course, the cars are not being built in VIN order, but 3,500 is a long way from the report of 2,500 built earlier this month.

That makes sense, when you factor in the approx. month lag time from production start to showroom floor, etc.

So they're building about 500 month, with 11 months of producton time = 5,000 gt350 & 500 gt350r.

#'s 2,750-3,250 are getting delivered now or soon.

The linear/monthly build data doesnt really apply here like it would a traditional mustang. Orders banks close in march and there are a fixed number of GT350 allocations. They could build 5000 a month if they really wanted but that doesnt mean its going to happen.

The G in the Chassis number is the Year Model. G is 2016. F is 2015.

2017 GT350's - wonder if they're going to keep pace of 5000+/500, since they're sitting on showrooms unlike last year when they couldn't keep them in stock.

Demand is still greater than supply.
MAYBE at MSRP. Since most of the ones that are in stock are over MSRP.

Ebay, cars.com, and dealerships all over have them in stock and they're not moving. I've been watching sales for the past year straight as I was very close to buying one a few times.

And I've seen quite a few "Buy It Now" listing at MSRP or very close. The only ones selling constantly are the ones at MSRP.

Example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Mustang-Shelby-GT350-/122099224000 The extra $1,000 over MSRP, is to just cover ebay selling costs. So this car (like many others I've seen) are going for basically MSRP and are currently FOR SALE.... (in supply)... so where's the demand to buy it?

I finally decided F'it and just ordered a 2017 PP and saved the $25k+- difference in price.

I think, I'm typical of a lot of Mustang buyers... at $50k+- the GT350 is a good deal, at $55k I'm a little iffy on getting one. At $60k I'm going to start cross shopping other vehicles like Porsche Cayman, Corvette, etc... (maybe slightly used) at $65k I'm thinking too much for a Mustang.

I cross shopped new Vettes & some used Cayman S's as what I wanted in them was like $80k new. In fact, I was very close to just getting a used Cayman S, I miss my last one. But a 2-seater isn't really practical for me even though this is my spare/toy car.

2016 Vettes that are still in stock have huge price incentives on them right now. I've seen some $70k vettes for sale under $59k. Example: http://www.mattbowerschevy.com/Vehi...ette-Stingray_Coupe_3LT-Slidell-LA/2773382403

This is interesting my serial is, 2016 Track Pack, G23xx and just got it Wednesday. The small town dealer in NC, who only had 1 2016 allocation, I got it from was not the original dealer but his sales manager found it at another dealer. It came with an ADM sticker of +$10k but I paid MSRP. I wonder if it is a case of some dealers can't get ADM and are moving them to another dealer so as not to loose face. Anyway I am not complaining about my deal.

Well, they probably traded something of value back... like a 2017 allocation. As the other dealer probably wanted to a get a new car or had someone will to pay above MSRP to special order just the way they wanted it, etc. So they traded a 2016 GT350 for a 2017 GT350, even trade.

The dealers that sold their GT350's fast, got more allocations, and made a lot more money than the (dumb) dealers sitting on their cars.

Ex: A dealer can make more money on 2 cars at $5k ADM, than 1 car at $10k ADM, b/c there's the regular profit on the car at MSRP too. They also potentially create 2 loyal probably bigger $ customers vs. 1.

I'm not sure if this is entirely true. It may depend on the dealer, but it seems many dealers only receive a set allocation of the GT350s for the entire year. Doesn't matter if they sell 'em fast or let them sit, they won't get more than their given allocation. I think that's why many will just hold on to them to try and get as much as they can.
