    This thread has been developed for the Mustang6g community on the 2015 and up GT350 manufactured by Ford at the Flat Rock Assembly Line, Flat Rock, MI. You are encouraged to take a look and participate with your first-hand experiences.

    How this'll work(feel free to suggest others):

    • Issues generating debates will be added when 5 or more members report experiencing the issue.

    • Original GT350 purchasers will have the opportunity to attend the GT350 Track Attack run by Ford Performance Racing School in Tooele Utah. Travel and lodging are not included. See sticky by @bmailpb. A heads up when you get there, Tooele is pronounced "Two-will-ah". Some may mess with your mind, be prepared.

    • Need to get your hood latch release handle off from the driver's side kick panel? Try pushing a 10 mm socket to release the internal tabs. Wiggle things around a bit. If the first 10 mm socket doesn't work, try a different one.
    • Need to pass under a sound threshold but want to maintain speed, see this option posted by @GT350Brakes.com. Not bad for $200 or so :like:. TAKE NOTE: this is also reported to allow you to change your default exhaust mode to open.
    TSBs This is an incomplete list & representative of TSBs that have had threads in the GT350 section of this forum. If there are other threads covering TSBs for all '15+ Mustangs in Mustang6G that should be here, please post in this thread and I will update here.
    At Delivery, check for the following:
    • Front and rear suspension spring spacers are removed. If they are not and you find them still installed when you get home, you might need to have the magneride reset if you’re getting error codes. See dealer for fix, search 'magneride' for more info.
    • Splitter is installed correctly if you allowed the dealer install it. (Hint, many choose to do it themselves.) See sticky by @Steve16[ for more info. See pics by @Epiphany for a clear comparison
    • Edge of hood by driver’s side wiper- improperly lifted driver’s side wiper can scrape the paint off the leading edge of the hood. See discussion between @Tomster and @PP0001 for futher info.
    • Rear bumper gap- measure to get baseline at delivery then again when you notice it growing (if applicable)
    • Panel fitment in general
    • Look for any signs of damage due to improper transport- misaligned/miscolored panels, front undercarriage damage. If possible, can you be there when the truck arrives? All GT350s are supposed to be loaded on the bottom deck , facing backwards and no deeper than the third position from the rear. See post.
    • Bird crap on your stripes can cause permanent damage. Ensure it can be cleaned off with no visible defects. Do not accept delivery; get some sort of compensation or have the stripes removed if you do keep it.
    • Check the fasteners along the underside of the side skirts along the rocker panels. Some have reported loose or incomplete installation. Thanks @Destro :like:
    • Then, bed them big-ass Brembos ASAP :turkey: Here's a link to the Tire Rack page on bedding brakes. Here’s another by Zeckhausen Racing. If anyone wants to write up a thread in this forum, I'll link it here.
    High Priority Checks: High priority defined as something to do to avoid a catastrophic failure. Suggested check interval = every gas fill up.
    • Engine oil level. See post in this thread for how to do this. For a video, check this post by @xXANCHORMONXx
    • Brake master cylinder to clutch master cylinder reservoir line fitment (less frequently than weekly if modified with clamp or similar)
    Moderate Priority Checks:Moderate priority defined as everything else. Suggested check interval = at owner's comfort level.

    Drive train and related
    • Torque on oil filter - first gen, spin on filters.
    Torque and sealant specs for the Oil Pressure Sending Unit from the '16 Helm:​
    • Material : Thread Sealant with PTFE / TA-24-B (WSK-M2G350-A2)
    • Torque :
    1. Stage 1: 124 lb.in (14 Nm)
    2. Stage 2: 180°
    • Engine to Oil Cooler lines for leaks
    • "C" Ring on Oil Filter Adapter- properly seated (at least once after delivery). It's visible from the oil filter hatch.
    • Lug nut torque
    • If you've installed them, check and empty catch cans as needed
    • Check fuse box for loose fuses and loose battery cables
    • Bottom edge of radiator for weeping coolant. Members report coolant can accumulate on the topside of the under belly pan so detecting this might not be so easy unless you drop the pan.
    • Check the underside of your hood directly above the air intake seal for paint damage from the seal. See post by @Zombo Check the underside of your hood by the battery cover seal too. Thanks @]fpa1974 :like:
    Chassis, body...
    • Side vent trim piece pulling away from body
    • Rear bumper gap- this may continue to expand.
    • Splitter installed correctly- anytime someone other than owner removes and reinstalls it.
    What's Considered Normal (Thanks to @montreal ponies for this catagory)
    • Piston slap, also known as "flapping" to a particular Canadian :crackup:
    • Brakes squealing
    • Tramlining
    • Brake dust, lotsa brake dust
    • Expect to have to fill 'er up everytime you drive the car :D
    • Sub par panel fitment and quality & questionable paint quality in some circumstances
    • According to the March 2017 Shelby Supplement pg. 48, oil consumption of "approximately 1 quart per 500 miles" while "driving high performance vehicles in such a way that might lead to higher oil consumption (this includes extended time at high engine speeds, high loads, engine braking, hard cornering maneuvers and track use."
    • Some have reported a ticking noise from the front rotors particularly in a slow turn.
    • Expect your windows to get hung up on your weather stripping if you quickly open them with the windows all the way up. From @Zombo- “Unlatch the door while keeping the door closed using your thumb on the fixed part of the door handle. Once unlatch, open the door slightly until the window drops down, then open all the way. Using this process, the window can not get hung up on the door seal.”
    Don't
    • Allow your GT350 to be towed with a slingbelt or wheel lift equipment. Get it FLAT BEDDED.
    • Lift driver's side wiper quickly
    • Use pneumatic wrench to set the torque on your lug nuts
    • Go to redline until engine oil temp reaches 190 F degrees. On a cold day, this might not happen or could take a while.
    • Let bird crap stay on your stripes
    • Take to an automatic car wash - parts may be blown off the car.
    Where To Start When Things Go Wrong
    • If you get a "P0128 Engine Light- Low Coolant Temp", check for a stuck thermostat. Not a unique situation- see thread started by @BoomBoy for more info.
    • Hood Flutter - check under hood bumpers, esp. drivers side, for possible adjusting.
    • Air Conditioner issues - check thread started by @eric n for more info
    • Suddenly rough running engine, check for:
      > An improperly seated dipstick. See thread started by @Houston Kid

      > Broken pin connectors. See threads by ....
    • Rear emblem fall off and it's not covered by Ford, check out fix by @DrumReaper
    • Trying to track down a rattle, check these threads out. (This is a test link. The old forum wouldn't allow searches to be linked. If you click the link, the forum search for "Rattle" should pop up. It works for me but could you either post or send me a PM if it works for you? Thanks.)
    • Need to check your original 'As Built' data for whatever reason, click here for the Motorcraft as-built site. Just grab your VIN.
    Part Numbers and Fluid Standards/Capacities (per '15/'16 Supplement) If someone wants to give me the '17/'18/'19..I'll put it here
    • 5.2 OIL DRAIN PLUG, BC3Z-6730-A or FT4Z-6730-A
    • Air filter: Ford Part #: FA-1922
    • Fuel filter: Ford Part #:FG- 1083
    • Spark plugs: Ford Part #:SP-519 / CYFS-12Y
    • Battery: Ford Part #: 67R-390
    • Oil Filter: Motorcraft FL-2069-ST (Ford Part # GR3Z 6731 A)- first gen spin on takes a 74mm 14 flute oil filter wrench. If someone wants to give me the cartridge number, I'll put it here.
    • Engine Oil: 5W/50 -10 quarts Ford Standard WSS-M2C931-C
    • Transmission Fluid: Motorcraft Mercon LV Ford Part # XT-10-QLVC), Ford standard: WSS-M2C938-A, 2.5 quarts
    • Engine Coolant: Motorcraft Orange Antifreeze/Coolant(Ford Part # VC-3DIL-B) (Ford standard: WSS-M97B44-D2)
    • Rear Differential Fluid: Motorcraft SAE Premium Synthetic Hypoid Gear Lubricant Non-cooler 3.2 pints (1.5L) with cooler 4.1 pints(1.9L) (Ford Part # XY-75W85QL) (Ford Standard: WSS-M2C942-A)
    • Rear Axle Friction Modifier: Motorcraft Additive Friction Modifier, Non-cooler 3.25 oz, with cooler 4.25 fl oz (Ford Part #: XL-3) (Ford Standard: EST-M2C118-A)

    DTCs from the '16 Helm:
    • P0300 - Random Misfire Detected

      Description: This DTC sets when the misfire detection monitor detects an engine misfire in multiple cylinders or the PCM cannot identify which cylinder is misfiring.

      Possible Causes:
      Damaged camshaft position (CMP) sensor
      Low fuel (less than 1/8 tank)
      Stuck open exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve
      Restricted EGR passages
      Misfire monitor neutral profile correction has not been relearned since the last mechanical repair

      Diagnostic Aids: One or more EGR passages may be restricted.
    • P030X - Cylinder X Misfire Detected (where X=cylinder 1-8)

      Description: This DTC sets when the misfire detection monitor detects an engine misfire in cylinder 1-8.

      Possible Causes:
      Ignition system
      Fuel injector number X
      Running out of fuel
      EVAP purge valve
      Fuel pressure
      Evaporative emission system
      Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system
      Base engine
      Misfire monitor neutral profile correction has not been relearned since the last mechanical repair

      Diagnostic Aids: Misfire is defined as lack of combustion in a cylinder due to absence of spark, incorrect fuel metering, low compression, or any other cause.

      The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) blinks once per second when a misfire severe enough to cause catalyst damage is detected. If the MIL is on steady state due to a misfire, this indicates the threshold for emissions was exceeded and caused the vehicle to fail an inspection and maintenance tailpipe test.

    DO NOT take the car to redline cold (<180). On a cold take it will take a long time to get to 180.

    I believe mine was the second from this forum that needed their engine coolant radiator replaced. I pulled the belly tray off the car to prep for the oil line recall and notice coolant wetting the bottom. The leak was so slow and belly pan so large that no evidence of the leak is visible. Therefore I recommend to make an effort and check it; especially if you notice the coolant level in the reservoir slowly going down.

    Another don't mentioned in the owners manual but is probably easily missed, Don't take to an automatic car wash as parts may be blown off the car.
