Damn. Didn't even know this was a thing....Just checked mine and saw some residue but no paint damage yet. Do you have a pic without the tape Zombo? Either way, I'll add it and your link to the list ]]Not sure if this is worthy - protect hood paint from air intake seal.

Thanks cjgt350. Added :cheers:You should add to "What's considered Normal" the ticking noise you hear from the front rotors particularly in a slow turn. You see a thread every so often on that same topic.
Sorry, I don't have a picture - at the time, I noticed a red tinge on the seal and that the paint finish was dulled a bit at the contact points. My car had <3000 miles on it. I saw another members hood, with a lot more miles on it that was showing much more wear.Damn. Didn't even know this was a thing....Just checked mine and saw some residue but no paint damage yet. Thanks
After I added the 'protection' on the hood (in the form of dark gray vinyl to blend in with my magnetic), now 2000 miles later the vinyl is showing wear marks. So it definitely is working.Sorry, I don't have a picture - at the time, I noticed a red tinge on the seal and that the paint finish was dulled a bit at the contact points. Checked mine, yeah there is some wear. I'm more anal about this car than any other I've owned but I'm not going to worry about under the hood. There are, however, a few scratches on the rear fender that I've been working on by hand but they are still there. Time for a buffer? Not sure if this is worthy - protect hood paint from air intake seal.
