GT350 axles on order. Stock finally broke!

Was on my way to breaking my previous cold weather, cruising tire pressure (27psi) best 0-60. Asphalt was finally up to 95° yesterday. I aired the Mickeys down to 17psi, drove to my testing grounds and launched off the foot brake at 2100rpm. Well, it dead hooked and catapulted hard up to 4700 rpm and SNAP! I think this would have been a 2.6x-2.90 0-60 if the axle didn’t shear.

*UPDATE*

Decided to give the GT350 axles a shot first. There isn't a whole lot of info floating around on failures. My engineered math says I need a strength increase of about 13-17%. Since most stock axles break at the necked down location on the drivers side, the GT350 axles are not necked down in that location. The hardening process COULD be better than stock units as well. For $347.99 shipped, I'm installing them this weekend, and will immediately be launch testing them. If they break, they break. That will also give more feedback to the forum.

That will be good info. indeed Cory! I never paid attention to whether the half shafts on my 2019 Bullitt are stepped down ot the same diameter. I‘ve always wondered about the durability of the GT350 shafts though.

Another update! Ford Performance just slashed $600 off their 2015-2017 big boy axles. I ordered a set.
