I also read that cautionary note. I have 5K on the car and there is no difference that I can tell in the way the front and rears adhere during spirited cornering or stopping. I brought this disparity up to my racing tire expert who had recommended these tires and he believes it is more about lawyers covering the companies ass then any substantial danger in differences in tread adherence.
Thanks I too own a Brand New 2019 Gt350 sitting in the garage with MPS Cup 2 tires. I just don' t what tires to run till summer. Do you think a all square IEE 285/40/r19 N Spec would work? I know its alot of money but blowing out MPS Cup 2's on wet pot hole roads is expensive to! Thanks!!

I purchased my 2019 GT350 in mid December 2019. I drive the car on weekends when the temp rise above 45F(thanks that winter is mild so far) and I put 1500 miles since I purchased her. I'll run Cup2s until they wear off after that I'll switch to Pilot Super Sports with original sizes. If I drive GT350 daily I would get second set of wheels with winter or good all weather tires, same like I have on my DD Audi S4. Anyone tried inexpensive $283/tire Nitto NT555 G2 All Season Radial Tire-305/35ZR19.

Not too sure how the car's handling characteristics would be effected with a 285/40 N Spec on the front. It's pretty damned wide for a 285. Maybe a call to Ford Performance and speaking with one of the Ford reps. who provide guidance about our cars would help.

Thanks, the Ford Rep stills recommends a 255/40/19 on the front rim even tho Michelin says the Maximum rim width is 9 inches. Go Figure? Cosco has a $110 dollar off deal on 4 Michelin tires before 3-1. They said they would guarantee no scratches on the rims and with lifetime Road Hazard, Tire rotation and Flat repair I might go that way. They have the 285/40/19 MPS N spec tires in stock at $481.99 I believe; MPS A/S 3 plus 275/40/19 in at $287.00, and The 265/40/19 MPS A/S 3 plus at $ 265. It looks like they carry all the Michelin Pilot Sport tires with most models being sold out. I called last night and they said you could order now get the sale price and pick them up when they came in. I have extra rims and will take them in to get mounted when the tires come in, that way I can verify if they scratch up my new rims. Also LMR has the GT350R rims in stock with 7 % off, beautiful R replica rims!

I think, given the GT350's propensity to tramline, that a 285 N Spec might fit but I think you'd have some serious tramlining issues due to the width of the tire. I went with the 275/40/19 in the front and the tramlining that was present with the stock Cup 2's disappeared.

I went with 285/35 A/S 3+ on all 4 corners for daily driving in the cool and cold weather, though I take our Mini if it’s snowing. My primary reason for the 285/35s was I wanted identical behavior from front and rear tires at the limit. I also wanted tires with XL load rating on all 4 corners (like OEM Cup 2s). The tread width is within a few tenths of an inch of the Cup 2s (lost a few tenths in back, gained a few tenths in front). Also, the tread depth is 2/32 more than the 285/40 n-specs and the 285/35s are under $300 a piece.

The shop that mounted them said the rear tires looked a little stretched, but not so much it was a concern or it looked strange (11” is the maximum rim width for the 285/35 A/S 3+). There still is some rim protection, but not as much as the Cup 2s. Speedo reads one mph too high at freeway speeds. No tramlining, great grip (though not supernatural like Cup 2s), extremely responsive turn in, slightly softer ride, but not quieter. I’m happy with them.

Beautiful Car.How does the 286/35/19 square work? Does it work in the dry, wet, snow or puddle water as a staggered set up? My worse fear is unusual road conditions: Puddled water, snowy roads, ice or emergency breaking and my traction control not working or worse working against me!

I've been running the 275/40 front, 285/40 rear A/S3's from late fall through to late winter for four years now, and I've encountered lots of wet conditions including standing water. Those tires on this car are pretty solid in the wet, but I've never had it out in snow so I can't comment on that.

Thanks! From my experience with these tires I have zero concerns in the dry or wet. Tire rack and Consumer Reports both give it strong marks for wet performance- including a top rating from CR for resisting hydroplaning (admittedly different sized tires). Dry performance is universally rated as excellent. CR gives it OK marks for snow traction and a weak rating for ice traction. I give it a “meh” for snow/ice. I will say no concerns with extreme cold - they were fine at 0 degrees.

I will add all tires have some weakness - it’s all about what works best for you - for example most winter tires are poor at wet braking.

Thanks, After I read your post I decided to order 4 275/40/19 MPS A/S 3 plus tires. The pot holes are horrible around here and the 40 aspect ratio may help. After reading your post i did some more investigating and found the OEM tires front and back had different section width's but the same tread width: 11.4 inches. If I had the money I think I would go with the N Spec MPS A/S 285/40/19. This tire is .9 inches taller, has a smaller section width and the same tread width as OEM 11.4 inches. As all the dimensions are smaller except overall Diameter, .9 inches taller I think it would fit. I don't know if it would rub but some people have lowered their car with OEM tires and they have not complained about rubbing. Also the tires I ordered are .6 inches overall Diameter taller which is a help in driving in winter.

The Pilot Sport AS Plus are really expensive on Tire Rack but there is a seller who had 4 on Ebay selling for $320 shipped apiece. I just bought 2, should be 2 left.

I daily my R with Michelin sport 4S tires and they work great. I know these are summer tires but the grip in cold temps is phenomenal (28 - 32 degrees F). Zero tramline and great in the rain also ........... ;-)
Do you have the OEM Carbon Fiber wheels? If so, I just checked with my local Ford dealership and unfortunately, I was told there are no options available for the rear (315/30/19). Unless, I'm missing any other details, please excuse me.

On the carbon fiber's with the 4s tires, I run 305 in the rear and 295 up front. The 4s is more of a squarish design which make the 305 look like a 315, and the 295 look a 305. They fit and look perfect .......... ;-)
