Gt 350 steering wheel install

I need some help guys. And before you say "you installed it wrong" I know that. I want to know what I did wrong. So I had the normal wheel on everything was fine, I install the new wheel and when I go to test it the wheel is 90degrees to the right. What did I do wrong?

When you remove the stock wheel, make sure it is centered. Then install the new wheel centered and you should not have that issue.

Can you explain why it has to be center? I just don't understand how it would change unless it's something electrical.

If your wheels were not facing straight forward and you mounted the wheel upright center position, when your wheels do face forward, your steering wheel will be offset.

And how do I correct the problem now?

Alright I think I might be under standing so I have to loosen the 24mm bolt and straighten the wheel out?

Yep. You won't even need to pull the airbag all the way off. Just make sure your wheels are straight.

Thanks for responses I got it figured out I thought the wheel only went on one way but there is a gyroscopic part that can affect where the steering wheel lines up if the wheels are not straight and you put the steering wheel on straight obviously it won't line up which I didn't realize while doing the install. On a side note I notice my voltage was at 12.8 while driving around for about an hour after the install normally it's around 14.0+ is this normal after disconnecting the battery?
