I dunno, there is something kinda effete about the new vette. I could never take it down to the hardware store. Flat plane crank, stick shift; I'd still rather have the GT350, not that I can afford either...
Perfectly said. And also in contrast to the new vette ; along with the GT350, the GT500 also is a ballsy piece of machinery.

Well we will see. Time will tell. I still think that this car is going to surprise a lot and a lot of people in my age range will jump on the c8 bandwagon and purchase.
I think your misunderstanding what I'm saying. It's not that the younger crowd. Won't desire this car more? It looks like a fantastic car to me. But I just don't think the number of 40 and under buyers will have the means to buy this car. Millennials have shown a propensity to stay at home with their parents longer. Put off marriage. And spend way more money on travel or tattoos. Than sports cars. Maybe s few more guys in my age group. (50-60) that normally would have bought a loaded GT or SS. Might be willing to spend a few more grand on a Vette. But that will drop the average buyer age. From 65 to 62. It's the same reasoning. All of us aren't buying Lambos and McLarens. We just can't afford them. No matter how much we desire them. And for the record. I love my Mustangs. But Im getting a Vette over a 350.

Chevy will be running sales. "Buy a C8 today, get a Chevy Sparc, free !" Your choice of manual transmission or CVT. Naturally you would get that with manual transmission to be sporty. Chevy Sparc will be reasonably useful at the hardware store as well as an Uber, which will cover your monthly payments and gas for the C8.

Umm because its a vette and not supposed to be mustangs competition but vette guys insist on making it that way?

No, Not at all.
A regular GT is a totally different animal, but lets be real..
A $63500 1LT/Z51 C8 vs a $60000 GT350

You gotta be a boob not to see this a no brainer, the C8 will STOMP the GT350 in every way manageable

Except resale value, sound, fun on the street (manual trans), horsepower, rev limit, burnouts.

Ill pull the C6G rabbit out of the hat. The C8 should have came out in 2014! GM sucks so much that they barely improved the vette from the C6 to C7 omggggg what are they doing!

The C7 is already at or above the 350 level. I guess people have been under a rock since 2014 and worried about the Camaro ATP, sales, beating the rusting, etc If people were losing sleep over performance the C7 would be selling 10k+ units a month. For some reason its not happening.

Funny you should say that. It was s'posed to. C7 was gonna be ME, but a budget crunch pushed it back to C8.

+1^^^

One of my track buddies in his mid 20’s and a life long lover of S2000’s (not your typical Corvette buyer) is extremely interested in the C8. Was never interested in vette’s before but this new package has him enticed. It’s an amazing car for $60-$70k. Highly considering one in the future. Just like how the flat plane high revving 8 of the GT350 pulled people into the Mustang this mid-engine arrangement will pull buyers into the vette. We are living in the best time to be car enthusiast IMO.
Agree, the C8 will have a butt-load of 1st time Corvette owners smiling from ear-to-ear...

If I cared half as much as you think I do, I'd care twice as much as I really do. Don't work yourself up and get your blood pressure higher than it already is.
Okay you kids, don’t make us separate the two of you :)

But seriously, I can't understand how people think their shit whether it be a Mustang GT, GT350, C7 Z06, or otherwise will always be top dog forever. It's called "progress." Without it we'd still have steam engines made out of cast iron only, no Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, no Magnetic Ride Control, and '70's bush porn. That last one, too young to fully know, thank god...
