Its also good for cars that have more sheer power and can chase down and dominate weaker lesser hp cars after a few seconds of full throttle with traction.
You mean big hp cars that cant run from a dig and need an airport runway to reel in the car thats out in front?

HP numbers only tell half the story. Apparently you are too ignirant to figure this out.

What about vehicle weight? 3500 pounds for a C8 by todays standards its pretty "light"

What if its AWD like the Nissan GTR? In stock form that cars a missile from a dig.

What if one has a DCT trans and the other has a manual where the driver simply cannot shift faster than a DCT?

What if one has way better tires on it say like the 5th gen Z28 comparisons vs the GT350 when it came out. The Z28 had way better rubber which was a major factor why that car kicked ass on a road course.

You need to close your mouth for a minute and do some reading and research. The C8 is going to be a monster.

Im not talking about just the C8 you need to look at a whole lot of other factors too like for example a new A
AWD Audi TTRS is a damn fast car but hard to find and damn expensive.

Dont be surprised if a Hybrid AWD version of the C8 comes too. Its getting to the point where RWD just isnt going to cut it. Same reason the Vette went mid engine. Once you get to a certian point like the C7 ZR1 next logical step in its evolution is Mid engine which is exactly what happened.

The mid engine car will be able to do a hell of a lot more with alot less HP.

But go ahead keep focusing on just the HP numbers ...... OMG the GT500 makes 265 more hp...... LOLOLOLOLOLOL......

Its simple math, the gt500 has a better power to weight ratio 3950/770=5.12 lbs per hp vs 3500/495=7.07 lbs per hp also probably has more downforce. Its almost a 40% better power to weight ratio. They both have DCT..

but go ahead and keep focusing on "but the weight balance is better 65% of the weight is on the rear of the c8" I dont think thats always good.

You are still not getting it geezus christ guy.

Its going to cost Wayyyyyy less than a GT500.

You are better off comparing a C8 to a GT350 those HP numbers and price point will be MUCH closer together.

495hp under 60k vs 526hp under 60k the C8 is going to absolutely destroy a GT350 on a road course......

But hey next you might as well compare an ecoboost Mustang to a damn Mclaren or Ferrari............

Roll racing is for morons. Yelling 123 out the window and then jumping on their "opponent". I have kids all the time pull up and ask "50 roll", I just shake my head. It's idiotic, especially on the street.

On a track, it doesn't matter as much if your car is faster 50 to 150, because if you have to brake earlier, then you're going slower through the corner and can't get on the power as early, that speed is useless.

That's where I think the c8 will shine over the gt500. Accelerating, slowing, and maintaining momentum and trajectory through a corner will be a lot easier, and faster, in a 3500 pound mid engine car than a 4100 pound s550, no matter the power defecit.

z51 will be probably 75-80k with a solid ~300 hp less than an equal priced gt500, gonna get eaten from a roll. gt500 + 3k mods and a tune probably 450 hp more than the c8.
Base C8 is $60k. Z51 option on C7 is $5,000. Probably the same or less for C8 since dry sump is part of the C7 Z51 package but included as standard equipment in C8.

So, $60k + $5k does not = $75 - 80k. Sure, most people will go 2LT or 3LT + Z51 and/or go with one of the uplevel seat offerings or add carbon fiber or any number of additional goodies that are not needed to achieve the quoted sub-3.0s 0-60. That does not negate the fact that someone can order a 1LT C8 + Z51 for $65k, not $75k

I think there is something here that everyone needs to keep in mind.

There are people on this forum that love the mustang, and also other cars. They look at things with an open mind, and will buy a competing brand if the features and performance are there.

Then there are people here that love the mustang, and nothing but mustangs. And that's fine too.

At the end of the day, we are all enthusiasts.

Some are just not blinded by brand loyalty :D

But wait dont Indy and F1 cars have engines behind the driver?

Both have way smaller engines than a NASCAR with the engine up front.

So I dont get it why arent the NASCARs faster than Indy or F1 cars?!?!?!?!?!?!

*this post is sarcastic in case some people are too retarded to figure it out*
