GT 350 just got crushed by the C8

The $60K C8 is a rental car. Albeit a cool mid-engine rental car.

The fast one is the Z51 which is going to be at least $66K and likely $70K+ that will maybe be as fast or a little faster than a 2019 GT350 (which is a lot faster than the 15-18 GT350s; which were similar to C7 Z51s in terms of lap times).

Lol jealousy is strong with you. Hoping a regular C8 to be slow as possible so your GT350 can prevail. Question for you, if a Z51 equipped vette can do 0-60 in less than 3 seconds, how fast a base model can do? Are you hoping low 4’s? I bet you are. Thats too bad. Only things i can think off holding the base C8 would be overheating issues and less rubber, if GM only included those with the Z51 package that is.

Kind of irrelevant though, since it's still a super fine car, imo.

You’ve only seen the base motor. To paraphrase John the Baptist...”there is another after me...I would not be fit to tie his sandals”. There are at least two more all new motors coming to C8.

And they will be a version of the BlackWing singing a tune of KickAss

There has been a lot of back and forth in this thread about what will out perform what and what will do this and what will do that. The truth is the vast majority of it is opinion and conjecture. The only thing we really know is the pricing. The reasonable pricing of the GT500 only being about 10K more than a 350 and the absolute bargain price of the C8 has now relegated the 350 to an overpriced underperforming choice between the three. I suspect the 350 will now suffer the same fate as the C7. The price has plumeted base C7s are selling for 44K, grand sports low 50s and Z06 for 70K. If your about the awesome sound amazing high revs and of course the earth shattering manual trans of the the 350 you should be in luck. Just go to your local Ford dealer and check the bargain table.

I did not miss it. Even though I believe the 350 will be completely out performed by both the GT 500 and C8 I will wait to see real numbers. The GT 500 and C8 just sucked all the oxygen out of the 350's room and it is suffocating.

Really. I just optioned out a 132$k base Porsche 911 to 213k$ If you think GM is gonna give reasonably priced options for the C8 your dreaming.
I can picture options pushing the base price north of 100$k really fast. One more thing.. the base C8 probably won't be crushing the GT350's 7:32:17.

GM said the only C8 that goes sub 3 seconds has the Z51 package. "Sub" can mean 2.99 and without it could mean 3.0 or slower. Come on people!

Man this thread title is misleading.

Im no GM fan but lets be honest EVERYTHING under 100k just got crushed by the C8.

That being said if people can really get into these for under 70K yes I know GM claims itll be under 60K it will be swinging hard at cars well into the 6 figure range.

The hell with comparing it to a GT350 the biggest issue Ford has now is they waited too damn long for the GT500 and the C8 will likely cost less and dance circles around it.

Who wants a GT500 with 2015 headlights ROFL when you could have a nearly 500hp mid engine C8 Vette.

Not to mention that LT2 share ALOT with the LT1 meaning aftermarket parts exist before it even hits the dealer showrooms. Think 600hp + NA LT2 C8 Vette will be pretty easy to make reality!

Answer: No one with half a brain that cares what each cost.

The GT500 surely it may not be compareable on paper but if anyone thinks the C8 wont steal GT350 AND GT500 sales from Ford needs to go have their head checked.

The C8 will be a game changer at its price point period.

And even though I think the new Camaros and GM Pickups are absolutely vomit worthy the C8 looks Fanfappingtastic!! Especially in white!

GM just blew up the entire sports car segment. Yes Ill include 2 seaters and 4 seaters and everything under 100k.

Remember this is the base C8. Wait until the Grand Sport, Z06, and ZR1 versions come out.

Ill go out on a limb right now and say GM will be swinging at McLaren with the ZR1 C8 or even higher if it gets a hybrid AWD version.

Im not even nut hugging here this is a real honest opinion IMO.

Fords fucked and again took at least 5 years too long to release a GT500.

With a factory quoted sub 3 second 60 mph I bet insurance companies are going to rape anyone under age 50 on the C8. Plastic fantastic will not look good with bondo filler and duck tape. Lol.

I dunno GM is going to sell an absolute shit ton of these and for that reason I have hope that EVERYSINGLE Ford dealer gets destroyed for trying to sell GT500s with absurd ADM.

Honestly IMO Ford dealers need a reality check and dont worry its coming thanks to the C8 LOLOLOL.!!
