Apologies if this isn't the proper place to ask, but can anyone recommend me a good website to buy OEM maintenance parts (oil filters and such)? Is my best bet just FordParts.com? Is there any site that will give forum members any kind of discount?

Thanks in advance.

I would just go to Advance Auto. They carry Motorcraft filters and such.

Thanks, Chameleon. I'll give him a try.

While I'm in here asking n00b questions, can someone by chance give me a link to a pdf file or some site that will give me reliable info on the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule? The crappy owner.ford.com site seems to be giving me bogus info... doesn't even seem to have the V8 Mustang in its database.

Have you ried the owners manual? The one on-line has a section on maintenance that starts around pg 341 ( I think).

Yeah, I found the manual on Ford's site, but since they wouldn't let me choose the GT trim when choosing my car, I wasn't sure how reliable the manuals I got were.

there should be an actual hard copy manual in your car. if you havent found it yet, there is a little tab on the inside top (roof?) in your glove box. pull it down, and your manual should pop out. there is supposedly a special slot for it there.

my car hasn't come in yet, but that is one of the things i'm going to look for!
