So I finally got a boo-boo on my 2016...from dropping something on it in the garage!

It's a dent about the diameter of a dime, located on the roof crease above the C-pillar area. Super super super thin metal! Which doesn't make me happy...but I guess it should make repairs easier.

Have any of you guys done paintless dent removal on a S550? I am interested in how well it worked, exactly what they did, and the cost. I assume they tap various tools against the inner part of the dent from the backside? So in my case, this would involve removing the headliner?

I've had all my vehicles serviced through Paintless dent removal. If the tech is good at his job you will never be able to tell the dent existed. I would do some research on who you use before pulling he trigger.

I am going to get 1 dent removed tomorrow, hopefully. It is right above the drivers side rear wheel. Relatively easier access.

But it is my first time and will let u know how it goes :)

As mentioned, if it's a good shop you'll never be able to tell. In 2013 we had a hail storm that my almost new at the time Fusion was caught in. It looked like it had been hammered over every square inch. Insurance paid for PDR and it looked brand new after they were done. The only issue I had was a misaligned hood afterwards that I had to take back to be corrected.

Any rough guidelines for competitive cost on a dent that is about the size of a dime? I realize this depends on the area and access, but I have never done this on any car and want to be informed when I am shopping for a provider

Depends on how hard it is to get behind it, most are 75-100 per dent

^^ This. Usually discount for multiple on the same panel, but most prices I've seen are in the $75 and up range for one that small.

Had it done on a Firebird a couple of time and couldn't even tell where the dents were. Just make sure it a good body shop / dealer

I had 500+ dents pulled out from hail storm damage to a 2014 GT I had. Yes, they probably will pull the headliner. No, you will never be able to tell if they know what they are doing. Go to a reputable shop, hopefully you had work done there, or a friend did. No worries after that. It's a proven process.

I've had it done to many, many cars (new & used) and always been pleased with the outcome. Dealer managed to put a small crease in the roof of my 'stang while they were installing the s/c. PDR guy was able to get it out just fine !
