Well, Wernher Von Braun's child, the Saturn V, did literally take us to the moon. So there's that. IMO that talent was wasted under Nazi leadership though. Plus they didn't have the resources nor the logistics to make a lot of the fancier projects happen. And we were bombing their cities and factories non stop.

There's simply too much of a market for fueling existing ICE's. Getting everyone in an EV isn’t as simple as saying everyone has to do it. If the end goal is reduction of emissions, there isn't a single solution. Low emission synthetic fuel can be part of that multiple approach strategy.

If this catches on, you better believe the petroleum industry will want in. That means big money going toward infrastructure and research and manufacturing. Many firms all competing, and supplying the market means competitive pricing.

EV's could actually help with this. If big oil wants to stay in business after there isn't any oil left, they'll have to adapt and compete. That means not driving customers away from the pump because the plug is cheaper.

Would not worry, they wont give up that market by just waiting not do7ng anything.

Also a lot of the brains he had for this either fled Germany or in concentration camps., As they were Jewish. Albert Einstein fled Germany and came to America.

Well its understandable, as WW2 was the catalyst for synthetic fuels. Germany knew they were out of fuel, and they made a push to get this done. The Allied bomber campaign decimated Germany's fuel production.
