I have had the pleasure of owning a really awesome 2018 GT Premium A10 for 5 years now. Have 31K total mileage, been boosted for the past 16K. Engine has been amazing, the Gen3 Coyote is a true gem. Car is solid as rock and has been trouble-free, with one exception.

The A10 has been a nightmare. Although professionally tuned to handle 9 pounds of boost, it has now been out of the car 3 times. Has Sun Coast full upgrade installed. In my case, this trans can't handle 650 whp well at all. My A10 has not not been abused or beat on, just street driving with occasional full throttle bursts (60 - 130). Never been to the drag strip.

If the A10 matched the rest of this car it would be a keeper for sure. But it's got to go, I am not willing to spend another 10K/$+ on this transmission again in the future.

So I have a "tank" on the way, a "Last Call" 2023 Challenger Hellcat Jailbreak. I know it's a boat, I know it has traction issues, and it's a Stellantis product, but it has a stout ZF8 transmission that seems to take a beating with very little issues.

I know I'll miss my 2018 Mustang when it's gone.

Yeah it's a shame the 10R had so many issues. Now it seems like people have figured out the magic setup with the right build and cooling but yeah, it's always gonna be more fragile than a zf8

Good choice on the new ride. Besides the great looks and stellar engine you're getting benchmark, even today, old Eclass Daimler unibody architecture and more, that's one of the best ever and still used it for multiple models.

It has to be one of the most successful architectures besides the Ford Mondeo & Focus platforms still used widely in multiple models.

Don't know why Ford has trans issues all the time even the 8speed DCT has issues.

I’m really surprised! I have a 10R80 GT that’s been boosted with a Whipple for the past 23000 miles out of its 25000 miles of its life and I’ve had no problems. Power has ranged from 650 to 800 whp. It’s actually shifting the best it ever has now after a Wengerd tune. Looks like quality control issue on the A10, some strong some not so coming out of the factory? Good luck with your next car.
