Just out of curiosity, does anyone else have a 5600x + a 30 series GPU? And do you run into any quirks when playing games?

I use a 70" actually...

I also use M&K, or an Xbox Series controller. The Steam controller is a cheapo piece of garbage. Trust me, I have two of them (paid $7 each!).

I used to build my own PC's. But now, for me, consoles are easier. Definitely not superior, just more convenient. I just want to sit down and play a game for 15 to 60 minutes. I have no time to putz around with updates, drivers, compatibly issues anymore.

I know that swapping the 5700XT for the 6900XT produced WORSE performance out of the box. I had to tweak a few settings before it was putting down the right numbers. Maybe do a clean driver install since you leapfrogged a generation? I'm personally tempted to nuke windows and start completely fresh to get rid of any potential lingering gremlins.

Honestly, PC gaming is essentially as plug n' play as the consoles these days. It's just like cars, it's only as hard as you want to make it when going down the modding/custom route. You can buy a stock car/off-the-shelf system and just go. Drivers and games update automatically. New games get better optimized/patched. You only really run into problems when you try to play older stuff (around 2010 back, usually).

I did a Windows reinstall when I got my 3080. That's when I got the quirks. I've used DDU a couple of times since then (Since EVGA recommended it and it got rid of some quirks and added new one). I think I might try another Windows reinstall in the near future.

I bought my current laptop just before all the new gen GPU's came out last year. Got a great deal on it though! I don't care that I still only have a lowly 1660ti, Forza runs like a champ. My gaming chair is an old recliner (they get better with age I think) and laptop/monitor sits on a desk. Forza with my feet up, nothing better.
