Glad I didn't get an R......Curb Rash

Well for once I can say for sure I'm glad i didn't buy and R! Long story short I just made a $600+ mistake. Parked really close to a curb in a tight parking lot to prevent door dings...when i left I cut the wheel a bit to early. I'm not sure how i drive my Terminator for 10 years and never get a curb and then I hit this one with only 1400 miles on the car!

Anyone know where to get the best deal on a new OEM wheel? I could get this one repaired but may as well try new if i can find an OK price.

I just need to find a local company to repair them then. If people have luck with the quality of a repair then I'm ok with that.

Yeah shouldn’t be a problem, ask enthusiasts or call the local high line car dealer like Porsche or the like and see who they use. We have a couple locally that would have that 100% easy.

$153 from rockauto OEM reconditioned wheel.

Glad it was the wheel and not the tire. That would of been more expensive

Pull all 4 and get them coated gloss black or some other color that is a little more fun. Would probably cost you the same with mount/dismount

For me, only one curbed wheel in 30 years of driving. Happened a few years ago as I pulled close to the curb so that my passenger didn't have to step into rain water. No good deed goes unpunished...

Check around for a mobile wheel repair guy...they fix it while at your work or eating your sandwich. Usually under $100.....

I've always go up on the curb. Thankfully, never once scrapped a rim. *knock on wood* On my old car the dealer was surprised how nice my rims were ,especially, since it was my first car. Just call around you'll find someone who can make it good as new.

Exactly - I curbed mine once (not nearly that extensive, maybe 0.5" in total with paint scraped off). Just used black touch up paint - good enough

Parking with a curb on the driver side I pull in at a slight angle away from the curb, open the door as the rear wheel approaches to be sure it's clearing OK, then crank the tire fully to the left and roll up until it lightly bumps the curb with the tire. Had to park this way downtown in a parking lot for a year and half with no damage. I don't park with a curb on the passenger side - that's a sure accident just waiting to happen.
