gen 5 whipple on 2018 mustang hood clearance

just installed my stage 2 complete kit on my 18gt a few days ago and noticed that the insulation on the hood has the imprint of the lid on it. i knew it was going to be snug but the hood is literally resting on the whipple.

I have a 17 and gen 5. The installer removed the insulation from the hood. I still have two small contact areas with the hood and rear of the blower that continue to rub. Installation shop has not seen this before. Anyone else have this issue and what did you to correct?

With a 17 you should have more room than my 18.... i wonder if your motor mounts are tired and the motor is rocking excessively

thats a painfull picture. Did you get the competition blower or a full kit? Because if you got the one from the cobrajet in the competition the intercooler is thicker and it add height.

Yea. Ur lid is shaped diff on the back from a basic Gen 5 3.0

It was the full kit. Luckily everything is just aluminum so I am not worried about rust but it is annoying.

That is exactly what mine looks like. I've wondered about spacers on the hood hinges but to much would mess up the gaps.

I would get lowering motor mounts and drop the motor 1/4 or 1/2 a inch.

Mine touches the hood liner but there has not been any negative affects from that as far as I can tell.

The Whipple Installation Instructions specifically instruct you to remove the hood liner as it will make contact with the supercharger.

I'm going to use the adjustable kit from BMR. Does not impact NVH. BMR MM008.
