So it’s not new news that Whipple has been working on releasing a new 2.9L Gen 4 for the 17 and earlier Mustangs, but I got one now. I was able to secure and early pre production Gen 4 as a beta tester, and opted for gloss white powder coating option. I’ve had all 3 now since buying my first Gen 2 in 2015, and then upgrading last year to the Gen 3 rotor pack. Like the previous version the Gen 4 comes with a new rotor pack profile design aimed at attaining higher HP through efficiency and design in the port shaping for better rotor filling. As you can see the outer design is unchanged from the Gen 3. Can’t say enough about Whipple's customer support and always moving forward new advances in twins screw technology.

Very nice. Is the plan to install the Gen 4 with no other changes? Id be curious how much more the Gen 4 generates hp wise over Gen 3...

Right and that would be optimal for sure, but unfortunately to many things have already changed. Catless headers as well as cam timing changes and spark. Also adding heat spacers from heads to manifold before installing Gen4.

I’m getting these from Jason Etter of Dept of Boost, I’m testing for him also. Hoping to see them soon so I can mount the whipple and make modifications to the top of the drive belt plate. The top bolt of the plate to the whipple will need to account for the .5” increase.

Not like the the Gen 5, but rather much like Gen 3 rotors but with a different profile as I was told.

Yes makes more power through efficient rotor design and port work over the Gen 3. My understanding is peak power will increase more with Gen 4 design.

Awesome brother! I took my gen 2 (Boss 302 kit) off a few months ago to go turbo, but I’m having a hard time parting with it because it’s so pretty. I wonder if I can upgrade to the gen 4 without selling the pretty gen 2 housing.

Nice one Shaun. I was really hoping we’d be able to see a Gen 3 - Gen 4 swap on a like for like basis..not to be this time around :crying:
What would be even better (for sales) would be a Gen 2 - Gen 4 comparison.
Guys like myself might actually upgrade if the numbers stack up
