Has anyone ever gone from Gen 2 to Gen 5 Whipple? Will my 10 Rib setup and larger heat exchanger transfer over? Im Guessing I’d have to just alter the lines coming from my ice box? In the early stages of planning currently but would like to see what it would take.

The heat exchanger will work but will require some different hoses.

For the 10 rib kit the balancer and water pump pulley will crossover. The plate and tensioner however are different on the G5 so you'll need the specific parts for the G5 10 rib kit to replace those.

If you need help piecing this together for the swap give us a shout and we'll be glad to assist you in getting all the parts you need for it.

Thanks!

Is there that big of an advantage over just going to a gen 4 and keeping everything you already have?

I would think so especially if I was to go with a Gen 5 3.8.. Either way 3.0 or 3.8 Whipple didn’t go backwards.

Yes. The Gen 5 is a completely different setup with new rotor profiles, supercharger housing, and intercooler setup making it their most efficient supercharger system ever.

Hope that helps.

I could see maybe if you could take full advantage of the 3.8. but gen 4 2.9 vs gen 5 3.0 I'm not so sure the extra money and effort would be worth it. Unless you are going for a max effort type build I can't imagine the gen 5 makes more than 50-60hp over the gen 4. I could be wrong I guess I dunno.
