Funny thing is the revision (B) can be found cheaper at $15 vs $25
but x 32= $480
so you are better off buying the GT 500 part from Ford performance

The pair of 18 GT heads (including lifter/rockers) I picked up for $700 is more of bargain than I thought.😎

Looks like the gt350 block went up in price already. Has anyone actually ordered gt350 block and used it yet?

How much is it now ?
Plenty of people have "used" the GT350 block in their builds .
I know of several builds with Gen 2 coyote heads that are running and making 1100-1200 whp.
I have a completed build using the block and Gen 3 heads but its still sitting on a cradle.
Not that you can tell from the pic but I thought I would show it off anyway 😎

It’s about 1800$ now.
I really want to do this setup with my gen 2 heads but the cost is pretty significant.
I was quoted 6200 for a built sleeved sb not too long ago. So this path actually costs more.

engine looks great!

That’s a great price for a sleeved SB... but I don’t see how it can cost less than starting with the GT350 if you use same rotating assembly .
May be if you are using your old block , but even then it would cost at least $2K to sleeve if not more and you won’t have the opportunity to sell your short block like you would starting with a new block ..
if you get a new Gen 3 or 2 block for $800 and sleeve it then you are at $2800 vs $1800 for the un sleeved GT 350 block .

I was under the impression a sleeved gen 2/3 Coyote block would hold up to more power than a unsleeved GT 350 block. Am I wrong?

You definitely are not wrong, but the evidence seems to show the newer 5.2 blocks are holding significant power without being sleeved and with all being equal you can save significantly that way. I just purchased a Predator 5.2 block for $1800 and feel safe with the power levels I will be looking for, 900-1100 whp, depending on fuel I am using and intended use.

Going to throw my hat in the ring here to get sub'd since the thread is of interest.....

I'm currently pondering buying a different car, but on the other hand I haven't had my hands in an engine build for a while. A stout NA 5.2, with the possibility of FI later. I've got a new GT350 intake on the shelf doing nothing and a friend has a set of new GT350 heads that I can get for a decent price. With those pieces of the puzzle in mind, what would be the ticket for the short block?

Verdict? From what I'm seeing here, Predator for the block itself.....

I wouldn't mess with the hassle of the 350 heads IMO. Predator block is a good choice.

What would be your out-of-the-box preference on this 5.2? I'd want to stick with non-Gen3 stuff to look stock (for a '15) under the hood.

Can‘t run Gen 3 heads anyway if you have a 15.
I agree with@80FoxCoupe - re GT 350 heads .
I do have them on three 5.2 SB’s . The long block‘s in my Hellion Car (Gen II GT 350 cross plane SB build) and KB car (bored and sleeved Gen 2 coyote SB) and the long block going in my Fox body Coyote swap (Gen 1 GT350 Cross plane build ) .
And of course have them on several (3) Voodoo long block builds .
So that’s 6 pairs of them.
I used also used pair as core a few years back for new GT 350 heads and had 2 pairs I just used as cores for 15-17 GT heads .
To be honest they have been mostly a pain due oiling issues .

you have to be careful the oil restrictors match the oil pump or you will have oil pressure issues .

You can only use GT spec cams if you use the MMR modified rocker arms but I am not sure how well they actually work - may be the reason I had some Scoring in some of them ?
You can use the Ford Racing cams in the alluminator and I believe also predator cams but they will require the expensive GT 350/500 rocker arms .
