What are the best options to improve steering? K brace?

take the slop out of the rear (IRS bushing inserts) and IRS bracing. Then you'll be driving just one car instead of two. Then front lateral arms with bearings, (steeda) extended length roll-correcting links, and a moderate front bar or as much as Steeda's adjustable on its softest setting.

This assumes you already have the engine and tower bracing that comes with PP-trim cars and which you can source for quite reasonable prices.
