Did you take off the bumper to do that? Also any noticeable difference?
no bumper removal, just drilled straight through the front.
1/8" pilots, then 1/2" hole saw. the little pixels on the grill make perfect spacing a breeze.

can't tell a difference yet, been driving in bumper to bumper traffic today.
I monitor IAT and charge temps religiously, so will update.

Did you not see my post above? lol. I addressed your question. I have the BIG MOUTH and GT grille, I also cut out by hand with an exacto knive EVERY blanked honeycomb...took me 6 hours but it looks like factory and I only had to do it once ;)

Just to reiterate, IAT's are actually lower than ambient in the cooler weather, for example it was 64F ambient and IAT's were around 62~63 due to the cooling effect of high volume of flow. Also even on hotter days it's only a few degrees above ambient at lower speeds / lighter loads and at higher speeds usually right at ambient. Can't get much better than that unless you put an ice box in front of it...

I just did the same thing Chef did and also put in a k&n filter at the same time.. So far my iat's are noticeably lower at idle and in stop and go traffic.

The "Big Mouth" looks like an awesome functional addition!!

Question for the manufacturer:
Is there a way to offer an additional mesh or screen to prevent the air box from being populated by collected road debris & bugs?

I 'could' add some type of mesh addition, although I usually leave that up to people to add since some people like to go fully open and some like to keep the grill. Filter should take care of the rest :)

Does removal of that plastic intake tract have negative impact? Asking for a friend..

Why take away something that helps get fresh air from outside the car into the intake?

Would hate to have to remove the intake just to empty a bunch of rocks that have collected in there every time.
Could probably get by just drilling a bunch of tiny holes on those 2.5 honey combs
