I totally misread this. Thought I saw ‘upgraded to 380 hp’.

Here’s what happened when I googled ‘2020 Focus RS’:
https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/...s-have-400bhp-425lb-ft-mild-hybrid-powertrain
Ford UK's MD has completely denied there will be an RS Focus, but then he also flat out denied there would be a Bullitt Mustang for the UK. He's pretty active on Facebook (it was his post announcing the Focus ST today), but rather than stating "we don't comment on future product" he takes the unusual step of saying they won't happen.

So, I expect an RS Focus either late this year or sometime next :giggle:

I don't have any interest in replacing my car, but it would be good to have another engine option if mine goes ecoboom.

It would be an BMW killer...
The 5.0 already is. Funny thing is that the 2.7/3.0 isn't a weight save, once you add the IC and all the piping.

Do you have actual weights of those by any chance? Even on my twin turbo car the turbos, intercooler and piping isn't more than 100lbs. Pretty sure they aren't that close in weight? Could be wrong tho

V6 2.7: 440 lbs Dry Weight.
Coyote is listed at 445 lbs.

Didn't see the 7.3L mentioned. Could make 1000 HP and just annihilate the Hellcat. LOL
Twin turbo 5.0L makes 1200 - 1500 hp without the added weight or cramped size of the 7.3L and it will still get good mpg when not wide open.

There is so much wrong with this..
Twin turbo 5.0's typically put out around 800.. With some pushed further including mine at 950+.
A few have pushed as much as 1200 on stock internals but they were either dyno queens or just did it for the sheet.
Only built/sleeved motor coyotes are going to see around 1500...
The 7.3 is smaller than the coyote hence it is not DOHC. Just because it has a larger displacement doesn't mean it takes up more room.

Right, for an OEM solution, you have to factor in: reliability, longevity (warranty impact on bottom line), emissions, gas guzzler tax, gas requirements, etc.

The 7.3 in the Mustang is not going to happen as it is a truck engine. With the likely iron block and low revving capabilities, these facts mean it will not be in a Mustang. However, if Ford pony's up for an aluminum block, forged internals and high flow heads then we will see a 600-800 hp NA engine available in the Mustang(think 1969 ZL1 427).

Past history means this won't happen.
