    FORD PERFORMANCE
Ford revealed an all-new 7.3-liter, gasoline-powered, naturally aspirated V-8 engine for its Super Duty trucks back in 2019. Nicknamed "Godzilla," the push-rod unit immediately piqued our interests, standing out amongst its mostly diesel, turbocharged competitors. Now, the motor is finally available to buy directly from Ford.

The 7.3-liter V-8 recently appeared on the Ford Performance parts and accessories site as a fully assembled crate engine, priced at $8150. Rated at the same 430 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque as it is when found in the F-250, the package includes ignition coils, wires, an oil pan, an oil cooler, the intake and throttle body, and both exhaust manifolds.

Though originally designed for truck applications, Ford's 7.3-liter V-8 benefits from the same compact camshaft-in-block design found in Chevy's iconic LS motors, meaning it could fit into a variety of engine bays—if you replace that lengthy oil pan with something a bit shorter, that is. And as we've seen in the past, the engine can make north of 600 horsepower after a few simple mods.

In a world where turbochargers and small displacement reign supreme, we're glad Ford is still able to offer something like this. According to the company's website, it's available now for purchase.

At least it looks like it's all aluminum, no? If not, then boat anchor would be an understatement. Ha ha. But who wants that in a car? It's a truck engine. The Coyote is MUCH better IMO... but also more expensive, no? It's like $9,500 in GT form, right?

With as much power the 7.3 makes under the curve it will take boost to make a Coyote perform the same.
After that weight increase, you'll no longer have the advantage of saying the 5.0 is lighter.
The 7.3 is already King of Simplicity.
As for FE, well it take X amount of fuel to make X amount of power.

HP vs hp.....the 7.3 will be overall lighter.
    Far easier to work on.
    Much more bottom end torque.
Heads that can be ported to 400 cfm and maybe higher.

The list just goes on and on.

https://www.teamzmotorsports.net/ is/was working on a swap kit to put this into a Fox Mustang.

I'm thinking this could be developed into a torque monster where you could spin the tires through the first 3 gears! Not for me though as I have a gen3 Coyote with the A10 already..

Might as well just buy a Camaro, it's the same kind of power band.

This engine is intended to pull heavy loads with a high level of efficiency and be durable as a tank. Without all the complexity and emissions equipment of a modern diesel.

Wow, this is exciting stuff. I figured Ford would offer the Godzilla 7.3 liter V8 in the Ford Performance catalog, but I did not expect it so soon. The big block drag racers will love the 7.3 for bracket drag racing. The price of the engine is less expensive than I expected. It is great to have a modern big block pushrod engine available at such a reasonable price. Truck pullers will like the engine.

Never mind the Mustang, I'd love to see this in a Jaguar E-Type. :inlove:
Take the most beautiful car ever made in the entire history of humankind, and instead of doing a complete, historically accurate restoration only to obtain a slow (by today's standards) car that only starts on Wednesdays, just put a proper engine in it and get something gorgeous and useable at the same time.
