Ford says Dark Horse has most powerful NA engine so far...this is incorrect!

That's because of all the owners who talk trash about any Mustang that doesn't have a V8. An EcoBoost V6 Mustang would have made the GT 5.0L redundant and the angry boomers would try to riot.
I'm a boomer and would have bought a 400HP/400 lb-ft twin turbo V6 Mustang in a heartbeat. Incredible low end torque. 😁

Plenty of NA engines making north of 700 hp.
Most notably the Gordon Murray T.50 4.0L V12 making 725HP. Very impressive
Most other NA 700+HP engines are also v12's in the 6.0l-7.0l range.

I'm a gen Xer and I would not buy a twin turbo V6 Mustang unless the price was extremely cheap. I prefer to have a lighter and simpler and less expensive to build V8 engine in a Mustang. But I would have no problem with Ford putting a TT V6 in the car as long as there was a V8 option.

From what I've been told on here by some people who say they know, the TT V6 doesn't fit in the Mustang. So, AFAIK it isn't a conspiracy by "old people" robbing the young of their "fun" TT V6 powertrain. It's just that the car wasn't designed for that powertrain.

It would be great IMO if the engine compartment was made a little larger so that the TT V6 would fit. And hopefully that would mean a better V8 could also be fitted. Better meaning 6 or 7 liters.

I'm a millennial and I love V8s. I wouldn't want to drive a vehicle with anything else. Recently bought a Cayenne GTS for the wife. Twin turbo V8 is awesome. We average like 11 mpg now as a household :giggle:

#fuckingmillennial here too. Love the V8 and wouldn't mind a TTV6 option either, it's just not for me.

Just my humble opinion, but I still think a detuned version of the Ford GT engine to say 620hp/500tq, if it fit, would have been a blast in the GT350 at under 3550 pounds with lighter materials. Using an engine already in production would have hopefully offset the cost of the use of lighter materials in the suspension and subframe for weight savings. Sacrilegious to many I know, but if the intent was an Mustang version of the GT3, that might have been a step further in that direction.

Why wouldn't a TT v6 fit ? A TT's on a coyote fit very well. A TT V6 would sit further back, thus have much more room for the TT setup.
