Hey everyone, I upgraded from an ecoboost mustang to a gt. Thinking about supercharging the car but im worried about the oil gears. Do you think with the ford racing supercharger and there tune I would need to change the gears?

If its manual and you drag race, yes. If its auto, probably not.

If you run a auto car you will be fine to around 650rwhp. If you go manual, I would do the OPG and sprocket. Harmonics is one of the main reasons for failure. Missed gears and over revving the motor will make them fail.

Depends on several things. If it is a auto car you can run the factory shafts into the 10's in the quarter. If you plan on sticky tires with a stick car, you can break them on a stock car.

My car makes 646rwhp and 598rwtq. I daily the car and I am still on the factory OPG and sprocket. No problems at all. With that being said... I am in the process of building a new motor because I want a built motor in the car.. If it makes you feel better.. Spend the money and have it done. It will save you a little time and money doing it together.
