Anyone have these on their car w/o any other exhaust mods? Wondering how loud they are versus the OEM axle back mufflers. F P part #: M-5320-M8TBA

I ordered the Extreme version last week, but have not received yet. I am leaving the factory resonators on, so hopefully not too loud.

According to Ford:

  • Meets 95 decibel drive-by noise standard for aftermarket exhaust systems when installed in stock applications
So there's that.

Yeah, I read that on FP's website. Still not sure I want to invest almost $1k in axle back mufflers. After the PP2 debacle I'm not sure I can trust FP.

I had those on 2015 with stock resonator and stainless works long tube headers with cats.
I was loud the first 10,000 miles and when I removed them at 20,000 it had gotten so loud I
needed ear plugs on long trips at higher rpm. Running 85-90.
Removed and installed Boral touring with their H pipe resonator. It is much quieter and no drone at steady speeds on the highway. Still has a pretty good bark on hard take offs.
If you purchase from Boral direct it does include a life time warranty. FP has a one year.

I have them on right now with stock resonator. Volume is about equal to stock, but tone is better. Deeper through out rpm range, and more refined or “tuned” sounding. It’s what should be the stock mufflers.
For me, they are a bit too mellow, so I’m selling to a buddy and going with FP Sport cat-back M-5200-M8SBA with a Borla 60561 resonator H pipe. Going with the Borla resonated H rather than the X because I despise rasp.

Thank you. I have degraded hearing thanks to Siamese Nam tours. The plus side being that I can no longer hear "Grandma Grumpy" when she's talking to me .............. The down side being that certain exhaust db's traumatize my ears under hard acceleration now. :explode:

Ford M-5231-M8 is slightly more aggressive sounding than the 60561, FYI.
