Whats up everyone,

So I just went into my local ford dealer for regular maintenance and some new tires. I had the stock Pirellis that come with the PP wheels, wore out very quickly in my opinion, so I was going to get some Pilot Sports instead.

After talking to the service guy, measuring my tread and what not, he mentioned ford is offering to pay for my tires! I have no clue why, I don't have any wheel or tire insurance, but apparently the Pirellis have been giving ford some issues (hence the 18 GT with PP getting Pilot Sports) and based off your tread percentage you can get free tires!

I got 2 free rear tires, I had my buddy go in the next day and he also got 2 free rear tires!!

Ford Dealership was in Pompano Beach, FL

So thanks for rewarding our tire burning Ford! Saved me about $700!

:ford::cheers:

awesome! I might actually make the effort to get something done on this.

How many miles do you have?

I tried to get free tires too because my tread is pretty worn so early but they said that tread ware is basic wear and tear.

I have 24.5k on the car, this is my 3rd set of tires.

First set both rears got nails in them at about 10k (both got nails within like a week of each other - construction by my house), both out of the sidewall so not patchable (I was furious at this) So maybe thats why I didn't hear about this before.

so this was my first time replacing them do to wear, they had roughly 11-12k

at the dealership they had a chart with the miles vs % ford will pay based off those miles, I believe it went like this:

0-12,000 = 100% off (Free)

12,001 - 24,000 = 60% off

24,001 - 36,000 = 30% off

Exactly what I thought, but you need to haggle them, I promise its available!

They offered it to me, I had no clue it was even a thing they did. Some dealerships may just not be very willing to let the information get out.

I have never heard of such a thing, but here I am with free tires.

That's awesome! Glad you got a shiny new set.

I'll try it again when I go to get my exhaust installed. Thanks for the heads up.

Was that chart only based on wear? I have maybe 5000 on mine and they look like I've put 15k on them. I drive like a grandma too.

Weird....

So did you get Pilot Sports out of the deal??

If so what's to prevent people from just smoking them with Line Lock and getting new tires?

darkest hour - yes only wear, time wasn't a factor. If you are low on tread with only 5k you should be covered here.
c-rizzle - no unfortunately I had to get the same Pirellis again, but since they were free I can live with it. If I had to pay would have gotten the Pilot Sports without hesitation over the Pirellis

Sure it won't work for SC'd Mustangs
