Personal experience, my 2018 refuses to let apps function on Sync unless I authorize Ford to send data to home base using my cellphone.

Is there any other means you can transmit on the 2018? I'd like to disable it all including collection outside ECU.
yeah, not surprised. Try answering “No” (you do not agree to terms of service) the next time you are prompted and see what your user experience is like. 😅

fair enough, if you read the info and you don't agree then you are entitled to your opinion. I prefer dogs too.
Your response, while very refreshing, puts you at risk of being kicked out of the “only my views are right” club..

Can Ford tell how many times I hit OK on "oil change required"? ;)

Either you are lazy or you lost my number.
Lol - I haven't been driving it really. Just moving it around. The oil still looks new..it's garaged so minimal condensation/moisture... it's just pinging me for the time between changes. Guess I'm saying that I wasn't really in a hurry and I don't want to bug anyone...was kinda hoping they would start popping up by now.

And yet another reason I made the right choice with a base 300A car. Good info on the other thread

I try not to read anything.. that’s what YouTube is for. But, just for you, I did read it and still thought a proper response was a tin hat wearing cat.

since I willingly agree to terms with apple, google, and all other services/apps, etc… I am not really concerned with yet another company collecting data.

unless people are willing to stop using cell phones, the internet, watching oled tv’s, using credit/debit cards, and anything else in the connected world, our data will continue to be collected and used to our dislike.

we all have the right/option to write a manifesto and go live in a cabin in the woods.

p.s. Dogs are way better than cats but google search algorithms believe people find cats more appealing than dogs (hence the cat pic).

I question these types of responses. I guess a lot of people need to rationalize their willingness to bend over and take whatever is shoved their way, by attacking people with legitimate concerns as being paranoid.

Not attacking anyone or calling anyone paranoid.. just stating facts: everyone’s data is a commodity that companies and governments willingly collect, sell, and use.
if you feel “attacked” then that is a “you” problem, not a “me” problem.

I spent 20 yrs in the military where EVERYTHING is tracked by your SSN, and it was probably stolen and sold countless times, no longer care. If Ford or anyone else wants to track my driving habits, more power to them. I can easily picture a Ford analyst looking at my data and thinking "WTF is he doing and why? No sane person would drive that erratic. Umm, delete data." :cwl:

...I bet they don't spy on me;
I don't have FordPass.
I don't even plug in my iphone to the car radio, let alone talk or
spend any time on the phone when in the car...........................................
