Never would happen anyway, as Ford does not, historically, publish an lap times from it's R&D at that venue. Besides, it's a useless number other than for Internet bragging rights and, even then, since there is no official timing used at the 'Ring, it's subjective anyway.

I think by watching what the Multimatics are doing to the Z/28's is convincing enough for me that the Shelby would toast a Z/28 on the Gring.

Timing this with a stop watch, I got a 1:25.3 lap time... That's a really, really good time for Grattan. Looks like a GT305R with Electronics package.

it beats, "THE 911".... Which 911 are they refering to? They make many different incarnations of the 911 with drastically different performance capabilities. It will be nice to see just how amazing the gt350 is.

I cannot wait for Randy P. to drive this car and provide his feedback along with his times. This is a sick car and Ford has done an amazing job on all fronts.

I really hope they test both models...the GT350 and R.

Hopefully, they include them in the same comparison.

Building a car that competes with Porshe or Corvette is evidence enough that Ford has taken 'the next step' in Mustang evolution.

It needed to do exactly that to ensure that future generations can run with the best the world has to offer...

I have been waiting for the day Ford manages to match the corvettes (current gen) performance AND price point. I'm a little sad about the weight, but I think we might see some lightweight freaks and tricks that will put the car under 3700.

I'm with others about the GT3 comparison, which model? Porsche is a fast moving target, they come up with newer faster stuff every year it seems.

Fingers crossed for an 11.9 1/4 mile from one of the publications.

I'm going to try very very hard to buy one of these.

Nice article. The media loves this new track weapon. The interwebs are lighting up unlike I really have seen before. So far it is really living up to the hype.
