I don't know if anyone else has experienced this. But, a few days after I ordered my Mach 1 from Zach at Granger, I got a VIN and date of April 12 as the week the car was to be built.

Then a couple of day ago I got 3 emails in a row from Ford. First one said build date moved to 4/19, then 4/26, then May 3rd.

Any idea why?

Pure speculation but it could be because of the chip shortage

What priority was your order? They may have bumped it if higher priority orders came in. My date is the week of 3/29, I haven’t received any emails bumping that.

Sorry to hear Bob. I have only received the one email from Ford with the March 29 date. It would not surprise me at all if that was to change though with everything that’s going on

My order went in on 1/28/21. I got the email from Ford about the build date being 4/12 about 3 days later with the VIN. I don't know the priority. Zach from Granger said that customer orders take priority over dealer stock.

I am thinking that since the Mach 1 has unique parts over any other Mustang that a big influx of orders may have come in, or as Matthew above said, shortage of chips. But, I would think that it is attributable to parts unique to the Mach I. Could even be the emblems or stickers. Who knows?

In some ways it might be good as I am replacing my "winter Mustang GT", the 2016. It will give me time to sell and the tires on the Mach I are summer only. Still, kind of a bummer.

Hope you get yours from that build date, for sure. Then you can do a review for us!

Just googled delays and apparently the Mach E was delayed about 6 weeks as well. I am hoping you guys that didn't receive an email are on track.

I know of an aerospace manufacturer down the road from me that recently had a positive COVID case come in to the building. Upon finding out they shut down for almost 2 weeks. They do commercial aero so currently not a big deal.

now imagine they made the optional wheels for the Mach 1 for example. Something like that could seriously screw up the production schedule for Ford

Heh .............I just went from 11 to 1. Zack said that being the case, mine will one of the first built. I have a feeling the issue is supplier based. My order is pretty basic and, being as I chose FJG with the appearance, handling pkg and , A10 Ford may be giving those priority. Their logic is simple. It is a high visibility car. Exactly what Ford is promoting. My car will be a rolling billboard.

How does one know or affect what their order priority is?
