I didn’t think of that at first but you’re right, dodge has a shaker that looks like it belongs. This has a very strong auto zone feel to it. Maybe not quite that cheap but it ruins the lines of the hood to me.

I'm sorry but that shaker on the new Mach 1 looks ridiculous. Looks like someone stuck a 52 year old part on a 2021 car. For Gods sake if you're gonna do it at least come up with something that looks like it belongs in this century and on a modern car. For the record I don't believe it needs a shaker hood. Car looks and runs great as is.

Like I said..... That's literally what it is.

This is what a Mach 1 hood should look like on an S550. It would check the heritage box. And would still flow with the current design.

And it would have been easy for them to direct at least one of the vents into the airbox for a more RAM effect.

heres one for the 12-14 cars, really shouldn't be too hard to design one for these:

then you can do an even better hood stripe package to fit the mach that follows the contours. and have 302 RAM AIR on the side like the 71-73s.

The real issue I have with that style on newer mustangs is that the hood is MUCH shorter and makes it look stumpy. I'd have liked a newer version of it. Maybe just inverted the hood vents. It would have been a rather easy change as its just a hood, but there is already a hood lift issue. I wonder if having a hood that took in even more air was just making the issue worse. Likely it would have required them to also use hood pins like the GT500.

that would fit the 71 motif even better then, many of them had the twist pins:

This CDC one does not fit the car or it's lines at all.

In my opinion, Dodge has done a much better job integrating the old with the new on hood scoops.

The 03-04 is the same as the 60's/70' which is the same as this one.
They made sense on 60s/70s era cars. That's where carburetors used to sit, and where a racing hood scoop would have had to go.

second generation (1970-81) Trans-Ams . . . came with a shaker scoop (so named because it sat on the air cleaner and poked through the hood and shook with the vibrations of the engine)

When I was at the GT500 track event, they were doing a introduction on the Mach 1. I was able to ask the guy who headed up the project as well as a engineer about the shaker hood. He told me then they did not originally do it because of the aero. He then whip out his phone and showed me photos of the design for it because a poll said people wanted it.

This is the result and looks exactly as he showed me. But it was the same on the 2003 model as well.

No doubt it's a styling cue/want, and will do nothing for performance in the engine or aero. Back in the day, they made sense and sold well. I had a '69 Sportsroof (no shaker) and a '73 Mach 1 with the NACA hood (no fresh air package on Q code because Ford tried to fool the EPA that yr). For the new GT or Mach 1, I don't think this is something to do, just isn't right. I agree, make something that fits with modern styling and works either/both with performance & aero.

The price isn't bad on it, but unless you can do the hood bodywork right, then would have to find someone that could and hope they do it right, and that could run into $$$.
