For those that like to nap in their car, whether it's on your lunch break, or you have to leave home very early just to beat traffic only to arrive to work an hour early, we pretty much figured out that the Recaro seats are not comfortable at all for sleeping.

They do not recline very far back, the seatback is very firm, and it feels like you're sitting on top of the seat bolsters.
And let's not forget, the lack of a headrest. You're resting your head against the middle of the plastic piece where the harnesses go into.

Unfortunately, we have to live with the fact that we are gonna have a hard time napping sitting in our awesome recaros.

Until I came up with one fix.

For the headrest, simply take some sort of thick microfiber towel

Fold it and place it where your head goes.

Now you can rest your head against something soft and have somewhat of a decent nap.

The non-Recaros don't recline much either. :( I'm not sure but i think the 2014 seats reclined a bit more.

I've never tried reclining the standard seats when I was test driving.

I don't travel much so I don't have such things. This was the best I could do. I was desperate for a nap on my lunch break one day and this is what I came up with.

I actually nap in the back seat lying on my back with my knees up. :eyebulge:

Don't ask me how LOL. Usually can only do it for about 10 minutes before it gets too uncomfortable.

haha thanks. :)

I actually considered that for a few minutes a few months ago, but decided against it.

By the way, I'm jealous of coupe owners' ability to put the rear seats down. I can actually lie down very well for a nap with my head in the trunk/boot LOL in the coupe.

Too bad convertible's don't have that ability.

If the back seat was a flat bench seat instead of faux rear buckets I would sleep back there. Plus idk how I woild get back there. My head touches the back window sitting normally, and I'm 5'6.

My old Mustang had fold down back seats. Slide a self-inflating camping air mattress through to the trunk. I could touch my toes on back of the car and just fit. My wife and I would alternate driving and sleeping from Key West to Minnesota. This time we will be driving the new convertible...no fold down seats! Holiday Inns, here we come!

If I don't end up using it after a year or two I might just put a seat delete back there
