What did you do about the shielded twisted cable? Did you just splice those too with regular wire and ditched the shielding?

The camera went wonky and then stopped working. A search turned up to splice the wires to give it more slack and hopefully replace the wire that broke in the process.

Speaking of the camera mine works at times and other times it's a black screen but still beeps. Time to upgrade this car, it's getting old :)

I'm smack dab in the middle of this repair and what a freakin nightmare. I ended up buying the FR3Z-14A411-Y pigtail kit from Ford based on TSB 18-2362. Eleven wires to splice and an additional ground for the lid. Some of the original wires are faded so it was a challenge to match them all up but process of elimination helped. The three wrapped together are the ones I'm assuming you're talking about. I have everything temporarily hooked up to test and it works so I'm just going to splice them and re-wrap them.
