Came out of a 2019 GT350, really liked the car but hours after purchase I felt the car was under-powered. I actually think my prior 2013 Boss felt better acceleration wise. While handling, sound, and sportiness were great I couldn't get past the under-power thing. I was at a crossroad, modify the GT350 thus voiding the warranty on a brand new car.

Enter the 2020 GT500. This fixed all my concerns with the 350 then some. Recently took the 500 to the strip and ran 10.70s on the very 1st pass with the car. I think the power issue I had with the 350 is fixed. :)

I have a '13 Boss and a '17 350R and agree with you on how they feel on the street. The difference comes form where the motor makes torque....I believe. I'm sitting here hoping my dealer gets an allocation for a '22 CFTP.

My recent cars that have been sold or traded in included an 04 Cobra, 12 GT, 13 Boss, and the 19 GT350. The only one I wish I would have kept to share garage space with my 500 is the Boss.

I feel like I'm getting into a classic car when I get in my Boss after driving my R!

That would be a fun car to hit the track in. A buddy has the V8 versionā€¦ we went to the track on Black Friday together. The Audi did very well in the turns, but didnā€™t have the power for the straights. I donā€™t know R8s, but Iā€™m sure the V10 version would fair better with more powa!
The V10+ version is even faster than V10 Performance, and both are faster than V8. V10+ has lower gearing so acceleration is quicker. Also has carbon ceramic brakes, which are wonderful when dropping from 155 to 35 mph on long backstretch, then needing brakes in the next big arc turn. I went home and told my wife I needed a $220,000 R8. We ended up agreeing on a $65,000 GT350...lol. But I never got to take it to COTA.

I commented on your MSR Cresson video. Great track. I have a membership at Eagles Canyon, but did not enjoy the GT350 there. Hence I am looking for a diff car. Wanted a Cayman GTS 4.0, but that engine is having similar issues to GT350 engine. Made an offer this week on a CPO'd 2016 Carrera GTS. They accepted so we're going through the process. Will enjoy it for a year or 2 and then maybe get a CFTP GT500 when prices have settled.

...convince me to do the same. Especially if you do occasional tracking. What do you love about the GT500 over the GT350?

I sold my 2018 GT350 and am currently shopping for my next car. About to pull the trigger on a 911 GTS, but lingering in the back of my mind is maybe I should go with a GT500.
I would add to what everyone else has said that ironically even though the GT500 is also more regular road friendly then the GT350, it is just so much car that you never get to use on a regular road which almost makes it a waste if it is not tracked.

It's such a blast on the track!

I have a 2020 GT350R and a 2021 GT500 CFTP.

I finally have some miles on the GT500.

I'll post some thoughts on both after I collect my thoughts.

Very cool! I didnā€™t know you were local. Iā€™ve run both ECR and MSR quite a few times. I have some buddies at MSR that can get me a reduced rate membership that I will probably do soon. ECR is a bit more fun in the CFTP thoughā€¦ bigger track with elevation changes and higher speedsā€¦ the CFTP is a friggā€™n BLAST there! If you are interested in linking-up, send me a PM. We have a local Shelby gangā€¦ we did a cruise last weekend and had a damn good time!

I know which one Iā€™d choose between the two, no contest. Now my 2019 Z06 on the other handā€¦ I definitely have trouble picking between it and my 2021 GT500 - usually requires a coin flip šŸ˜‚

Itā€™s a different driving experience but similar. Rowing the gears and hearing the Voodoo is something special. The GT500ā€™s power and speed is amazing. In the 1/4 mile, no comparison, GT500 all day. I took both of mine several times to Houston Raceway 1/4 mile.
Like others have said, small track the GT500 cannot stretch itā€™s legs all the way.
For me the faster car wins. GT500 for after having both and tracking both. If I could afford two, then I would own both.

I did just that to my 350, and my HEPR is stock. Didnā€™t want to give up the manual. Iā€™ll be me after a CFTP in 2022 to though.

ā€¦maybe procharge a 350R, and save a few schmeckles šŸ˜¬

This is why I bought both!
