Wow, to say the least between the different forums I belong to I am blown away at all the not so excited comments on the HP numbers. I owned the Hellcats both models Challenger and Charger with 707HP and those cars would bust loose at highway speeds. And they would in the higher speeds walk many cars. They were a blast to drive and my saying was too many just mail your drivers license into your local DMV and ask for forgiveness knowing how much trouble your going to get into lol. And now here we are and it’s a conversation of ho hum power wow incredible. So post your vote and let’s see who here knows the real feel of a factory 700 plus car.

My GT is in the 750whp range. Just ramping it up on a public road. Is an experience. The new GT500 will most likely trap 131-133 in the 1/4. That will normally put you in the top five street cars. On any given test and tune. Its gonna be fast. And once a pully and tune go on. Its gonna be real fast.

I don't get the people saying 760 hp for a factory car with a warranty that meets emissions requirements is not that impressive. It is 50 more hp than a McLaren 720S and Ferrari 488 Pista, a lot more hp than many other Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and IIRC more than all factory Porsches, BMWs, Aston Martins, Bentleys, Mercedes AMG, etc. People think because it has less hp than a Redeye or a Demon it's not that impressive. I say, that's ridiculous. It is 5 more hp than the most powerful Corvette ever - the 2019 ZR1. As if the GT500 has to knock the ZR1 out with 850 hp or some crazy output. Please, give me a break. It is one of the most powerful production cars you can buy. I mean, heck, a $190k Porsche 911 Turbo S is "only" 580 hp. This thing has 180 more hp than a 911 Turbo S, and some people are ho hum. The $300k Porsche 911 GT2 RS is "only" 700 hp. The list goes on of supercars that this has more power than.

488 Pista doesn't need that 'extra 50 HP'...…. It's weight is approximately 2,822 lbs.

I voted but not at all disappointed. Driven stupid powerful like this before and it'll be a monster with that DCT. I love manuals as much as anyone, but with this much power and the focus it has, they made the right call.

It is light, but that's the "dry weight". Curb weight in most places, including here in the US, is wet weight, including a full tank of gas. C/D estimated the actual operating weight of the Pista to be 3,250 lbs. I don't know that the fluids weigh over 400 lbs, so I'd guess it was closer to 3,050 or 3,100 lbs, but I have nothing to base that off of, so I'd go with the Car and Driver estimate as a comparable value to other curb weights. Still, 3,250 lbs is light now in the sports car world.

Exactly. This isn't a HP conversation. This is a HP/WT issue. Heavier cars with more HP will not perform as well.

Nice Hellcats. I really like those, although probably wouldn't buy one because of the weight. I did a 10-40 mph roll against a Charger Hellcat on the road a few weeks ago (couldn't go more), the very short run was dead even - I think we were both spinning for the most part. After that pull, I slowed, and he accelerated away hard; man, that thing was LOUD under throttle. That said, he also had the dished brass monkey wheels - they looked very good in person.

Mine is 750hp or so at the flywheel and I almost sh*t myself every time I lay into it. It's plenty fast enough (for me). Getting 760hp from the factory with a full warranty would be pretty nice.

It does not matter what people think anyway. But what were you expecting from other forums? Did you think the competition would throw a party? Ford waited to long and people got bored. And now some are not impressed.
