I have a blend date of 2/11, hoping it clears qc and heads to the off site Mach 1 stripe vendor before the scheduled 3 week shutdown.

Been watching news on the Canadian bridge blockade between Windsor, Ontario and Detroit. I believe Windsor is where the 5.0 V8 Coyote engines are manufactured (first link below), and then shipped to Flat Rock for assembly into the Mustangs. According to news reports (see second link below), Ford is currently saying that it hasn't yet been impacted by the blockade, but could be if it drags on.

The president of Unifor Local 200 representing 1,700 workers at Ford's Essex and Annex engine plants, told CNN he's hopeful production can resume Thursday.

(This is where the 5.0 Coyote is manufactured)

Edit/Commentary: I don't think this will impact current/existing production, as I am guessing Ford Flat Rock keeps an X number of engines onsite. But if no new Coyote engines can arrive from the Windsor plant in Canada, that could affect things down the road. Well, Flat Rock is only working until next Friday (the 18th), then they are taking a scheduled 3 week downtime. So if they can make it to the 18th with what they have in stock for engines, then all might be ok.

That's fast.

Mustang demand has clearly dropped off a cliff now with only 6-7 week lead time incl holidays and maint shut downs.

Another 10-15 weeks or so and dealers will be begging to sell them at $5-10K off with 120 mth payment plans. I've noticed used car dealers are overflowing....
Not near me in the Midwest and mustangs in most parts of the country don’t move till April onward because of winter

And I can finally pull the window sticker up tonight! Can someone please explain what convoy means? Does that mean it will be shipped via train? Also does the blend date mean that's when the car is completed and ready for shipping?

I just got my Windows Sticker today -- meaning today was the first time I was able to view it online.

Having said that, I became curious about all the meanings and details of a Ford Window Sticker. I found the two pictures with lots of detail and explanation below. Quite helpful, and hopefully for any of you wanting to translate your own Window Stickers:

On BLEND/SEQUENCE Numbers:

The blend number pool goes from 0001 to 9999 (4 digits) and then rolls. As a vehicle (VIN) is assigned to the build schedule, a blend number/rotation number is assigned. It is THIS order that the vehicles are built. When the vehicle is built, then the blend number/rotation number goes back into the pool. When they reach 9999, they start reissuing the blend numbers from the start (0001) again.

Blend/rotation numbers are a pool of reusable numbers assigned to vehicles that are used to determine order of build because vehicles are not built in VIN order.

On Invoice Date:

I believe "Invoice Date" is the date when Ford (Corporate) invoices your Dealer for the car. Obviously the amount invoiced TO the Dealer is not shown on the sticker (there is a lot of mystical math and formulas that come into figuring what Dealers pay). And remember, Ford (Corporate/Factory) is not selling you the car. Ford sells the car to your Dealer, and then your Dealer sells the car to you.

Price Level: Seems to match what is on the DORA sheet from the Dealer, when the order was originally placed.

FLR = Flat Rock Production Plant

000129 = 129th vehicle invoiced on the given day

OR = Delivery to State of Oregon (OR)

NB091 = Coded Invoice Date (N = 2022, B = February, 09 = 9th day of month, 1 = ??)

626 = (not sure, but some people have said it might relate to how the vehicle is shipped)

206/352 (yellow highlighted in picture above) = This shows my car is the 206th out of 352 scheduled cars to begin the final assembly process on that build/blend date.

ITEM # = Appears to be a combination of the dealer zone district number and order code.

O/T = Order Type (1 = retail, 2=stock)

The Yellow Highlighted Date does change based on certain events in the vehicle's production, shipment and delivery. For example the following can change that date:
  • Date the Window Sticker available for viewing.
  • Date the Vehicle is Built.
  • Date the Vehicle is Shipped.
  • Date the Vehicle changes shipping carrier (i.e. goes from a CSX train to a BNSF train).
  • Date the Vehicle is delivered to the dealer.
