Moved to Seattle from California. Zero experience with driving the car in the rain, and certainly never snow (though not much of that in Seattle I hear). I've got R888s on my new wheels, so that leaves me with the original GT PP wheels to put some non-summer tires on. I'll likely be commuting in the mustang. So stop and go traffic. Rain. Cold but not often subzero. Probably wont drive her in the snow.

Recommendations for tires? Which are better in the rain: All Seasons or Winter? So Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ or Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3 Run Flat?

Most of my family is in Seattle, I hope to join them some day. When I do, I wouldn't bother bringing snows with me, a decent set of all seasons should be fine. Most snows should come off above about 40 degrees, Seattle doesn't get much below freezing, let alone sub zero. All season tires will handle rain at least as well as snows and will be OK for the little bit of snow you're likely to see.
I had snows for my Porsche back when it was my DD, Michelin Arctic Alpins, and they were great, but even here in NJ where sub zero happens and snow is sometimes measured in feet, they aren't really a necessity.
Edit, Just take it easy and you'll get used to it in no time. For most of the world, driving in the rain is no big deal. I was in the San Jose area in the 80s and it did rain one day while I was there. Not heavy rain, just moderate but the impact on traffic was incredible, it slowed down the same as NJ does with a foot of snow. When you do eventually get some snow, find a big empty parking lot and have some fun sliding around to get a feel for what the car does under those conditions.

Conti Extreme Contact DWS06 is what I suggest. I've used them on a few different cars I've owned. Great tire in the rain.

FWIW, rain in seattle isn't like rain everywhere else. It doesn't often rain hard. So puddles and hydroplaning are much less of a concern. Any standard all season tire will work.

I've lived up in this area since 2001

All seasons suck.

Run 2 sets. Winters tires and Summer tires. Not all seasons.

Them Hakkas will make a Massive difference on wet cold roads too.

Again... Cold is relative. Mids 40s isnt really cold.

I've lived here for 17 years. I've driven ctsv's year round. My 540rwhp lightning. 1000+ ft/lbs diesels, a fox body, a 94 cobra and numerous orher rwd cars with more than enough power and almost no traction control.

Never on a winter tire. The winters are way to mild. UmpirU you're planning to go skiing a lot just get all seasons.

And I stopped reading or caring. Do as you wish.

All seasons suck period.

Or man up be smart about it and use dedicated summer and dedicated winter tires.

Snow tires are not just for snow either. They are for when the temps dip down.

But unless youve actually had snow tires you wont understand.

That being said once you do run a set of snow tires youll never want to go back!

But hey I guess I dont know a damn thing about driving in cold or snow living in North Dakota where we have 2 seasons Winter and Road Construction LOL !!

I run snows from October to early April.

The best tires you can afford are NEVER a waste of money ever!

The temps rarely dip. But what would I know, I've only lived here for 2 decades.

I've run snow tires. I lived in Spokane. We got 24 inches of snow over night. I had a Honda civic. Snow tires are awesome. But in seattle they are a waste. Two sets of wheels, tires, for nothing.

You dont get it just because you can doesnt mean a better option is available...

You are like arguing with my wife just because you say you can do something doesnt mean its right or that a better option doesnt exist.

On a cold wet road them tires would absolutely run circles around all seasons.

Psst BTW OP already has 2 sets of wheels.......

LOL carry on Im done here.

Says the guy who cant concede maybe, just maybe he doesnt understand the weather here and the fact winter tires are an unecessary expenditure.

Did you read the damn 1st post the OP was asking about All seasons or winters.

Not me suggesting winters. ..

He already suggested Sottozeros which the Nokians are a FAR better winter tire!

Holy hell child go away.
