Are the GT500 HP numbers SAE certified?

I know GM likes to certify but I haven’t seen anything about this from Non F150s.

Then why is there any question what this car will put down?

SAE allows +-1% of certified numbers.
Depends on the standard being used for SAE rating.

but I didn’t know there was a question.

it wouldn’t be the first SAE rated car to put out more than it’s rated for. That being said, I don’t think it’s doing much more than 760, though it obviously is a bit more than that.

from the video, you can see there is plenty of room to lean out the tune. So Ford left some easy gains on the table so to speak.

it’s a crazy powerful engine connected to a precision transmission that is connected to a carbon fiber driveshaft. The driveline losses are minimized.

The 2015+ year cars have a driveline loss of 9% independent of being manual and auto. Back in the day the norm was 15% for auto and 12% for manual. Around 690 whp is dead on for 760 hp crank.

Again, I say:
They said 705hp on standard correction. He calculated it to 646 with 15% loss then said SAE was 40 over that. So assuming SAE was 686hp, at a more realistic 10% loss puts it right at 762hp.

Puts it exactly where it should be. Ford and everyone else rates their engines according to SAE standards. This "its underrated!" stuff won't die..

I had to shut it down on Facebook. Lotta 19 year old kids with a new edge V6 Mustangs. That don’t know the difference between an engine and chassis dyno. I wish people would just understand. Performance cars don’t race on a dyno. It’s a number. Nothing more. Something to brag about to your friends.

Car needs to lose 1000lbs or at least 700. C8 will hand it on the street most likely.
