Yeah, driving through STANDING water in half the lane I was in. Just wet roads and it's a no brainer. The Conti DWS6's I run for winter tires would do the same damn thing.

Typical for High performance summer tires. My toyo's are downright dangerous in the rain but they stick like glue the first 2500-5000 miles. then they're done

What would be the fun in that?
Its the testimony to how well the IRS is in the S550 over the s197 solid . There. Fun.

Tiiiiiiiiiiiiire pressure people.
Dont be whining you cant hook at 35 psi LOL!!
PSI alone won't help if the tire is cold. The PS4S probably does great if you can get them HOT, visibly gooey/tacky which you can't do on public streets.

Laguna Seca, late 60's.. and you guys are worried about modern high performance tires wet traction ? Lol. Any modern cheap ass radial has more grip than these bias plies in the wet.

Good for you ! We went a buck twenty in a heavy rain. No problems. The rooster tails were a thing of beauty, same with the mini vortexes coming off the ends of the factory spoiler.
Cool story bro

As I posted earlier I had the 500's installed last Saturday. The day after I was on the freeway in a down pour with plenty of standing water in the lanes that any tire would have struggled the bit that did happen. Guess what? I didn't dead. Just have to drive smarter than the weather.
That is true, drive accordantly to current weather conditions. If he did have an accident, thats not good for anyone

I had replaced the Pirellis on the rear at 9k miles with the Firehawks and later the fronts.
I have put t least 14k on the rears and still have life in them. Never had a problem in the rain. Will run them again, and when due on the wife's 2020.
