I'll be installing this in my 2017 GT350R. It looks like the installation will be similar to the Watson Racing one, i hope to receive it within a few weeks. It's currently at powder coating, I plan to give updates on the installation and share my experiences with this rollcage for others who are on the fence between Watson and FatFab.

Stay tuned.......I have custom 6 point Racing harnesses and a custom sub/lap belts bracket on the way as well. Bracket information can be found here:

Has anyone else purchased this cage and awaiting delivery as well?

I like your way of thinking with the red brackets etc, I think it will look cool up against the bright grabber colours :like:

I’ve nothing internal, but my external / undercar Steeda stuff also went red :

Those will look great as well. I've been thinking about getting those Steeda add-ons for sure. They look very easy to install....you'll have to take some installed pictures! Good luck with installation buddy.

You can also see it (but its not in your face) when the wheels are on and the car is on the ground - that's the kind of the look I wanted for the external bit, stands out if your looking.

I haven't installed the rears yet (I've got other work to do under the back first) which will be a little more noticeable to the casual observer. The rears 'should' be an easy install, especially now Steeda have enlarged the holes / given a bit more tolerance compared to the earlier design.

They took a bit of prep to get them to coat like that (weld spatter / sharp edges etc) but I should imagine that the fat fab stuff will be very well prepped and coated as supplied :sunglasses:

Please keep this thread updated - although neither of your mods is on my radar, I love seeing stuff done properly, especially when its a style I really like :like:

Super easy to install. Made a noticeable difference in overall stability in my case

Fathouse Fabrications 4 point rollcage is finally installed. After a few fitment issues and waiting on parts, I'm pretty satisfied with the finalized look.

Installing the main hoop was pretty easy with a 2nd person. I removed the passenger seat only in my case. Sliding it into the passenger side tilting the cage towards the front of the car (slide driver seat all the way up and tilt forward). Make sure you detach all the Christmas tree style clips holding in the wire harnesses under the rear seat delete before moving the main hoop into position, leaning the main hoop forward towards the windshield to ensure you can get the harnesses over the main hoop supports.

Driver side
When removing the ground cable, be careful, I ended up breaking my metal eyelet connector when installing the main hoop. The cable is upside down at a weird angle and it caused the eyelet to snap forcing me solder and install an aftermarket one.

Fathouse Fabrications didn't provide any bolts for the main hoop support, I was able to use 2 OEM bolts but the 3rd bolt I couldn't use because of the oversized washer attached. You can see the lower bolt is too close to the support welds. Not a huge deal but had to get a few at the hardware store.
I purchased a few rear interior trim panels from a salvage yard from a wrecked S550. I didn't want to cut up my OEM panels, I purchased 2 off eBay for about $145 a piece. I used the Watson Racing installation dimensions for a guide in cutting out for the main hoop support.

After sliding these trim panels back into the car, behind the main hoop, I did have to do some trimming for a better fitment. I pulled the panel up just enough to use a Dremel tool with a sanding bit and slowly removed enough material until I was happy with the fitment.

I screwed up my 1st attempt at cutting the holes into my Cover King rear seat delete. The holes weren't the correct location and I tried fixing, this ended up enlarging the holes more than what I liked. I tried using rubber grommets to cover up my mistake.

I decided to make up a cardboard template to ensure my 2nd attempt wouldn't be another $120 waste. The Fathouse Fabrications has 2 angles with their rear support legs, Watson has 1 and would be much easier to cut and measure for the precise angle.
IMG_20220223_101956494.jpg

I was able to place the rear support legs inside the car and figure out where exactly they sloped down ensuring I got the measurements right this time.

I couldn't use this method as I saw many people using online for the Watson Racing rollcage.

I'll admit the most nerve wrecking part was drilling the holes through the trunk for the rear support legs. Having my wife get into the trunk and helping me start the smaller bolts, holding the brackets in place under the car. I couldn't see very well under the car, as it's just above the rear end.

However, everything did come together and I was able to not only get the rollcage installed but also my 6 point Safecraft Racing harnesses and the 6 point custom brackets.
