This is about what I am figuring. I tried a couple of car buying sites, Driveway had the best at $47,400, CarMax the worst at $43,000. The local car dealers would be in that price range. I don’t have a loan on it fortunately, so that’s a plus.I've been shopping these for about 7 months.
What I've seen lately is I can buy a 2022 for what I was shopping a 2021 for in late spring, and I'm noticing the trend nationwide.
I was a day late on buying a FJG loaded HP on FBM a month ago .. the guy sold it to a dealer for $52k the day prior. And on the other side, a 2022 loaded HP sold for $59k not long ago from a dealer. Timing is everything.
The best price is what someone is willing to pay unfortunately, and right now with interest rates where they are, its a tough private sale IMO.
If you can strike a fair price with a dealer, that's your easiest route. I've seen 2021's priced $49-56k, dealer pricing. Figure they are buying at wholesale and that puts you $2-6k below that on average.
KBB has a seller option called Instant Cash option too where local dealers will offer to buy the car at the price stated by KBB. Its not necessarily the worst option if you need to get out from under the loan.
As for BaT, there was a 2022 loaded HP on there that sold for $50ish not long ago. Its an easy setup for the seller, but the buyer gets hit with some buyer fees (plus shipping or a flight, etc) and thats why I steer clear.
Hope this helps and wish you well in your recovery.
I have been in contact with an auto broker in South Florida, sent him a few photos and he thinks he could possibly get somewhere in the mid to low $50’s. I would have to pay a 6% commission. There would be a monthly advertising fee until sold or canceled. Either way I would probably wind up under $50k. I was hoping to stay around that but it is a 3 year old vehicle so it is what it is.
Thanks
