I’m into rock and would like a little more low end. I see used shaker subs for a good price but not sure if I should go that route or aftermarket

don't waste your time. just get an aftermarket sub.

200 dollar amp + a nice 300-500 dollar subwoofer/enclosure and youre golden.

if you don't have the stock box, don't buy it. the aftermarket options are much, much better.

for 269 bucks, people really like this. its amp, sub, etc built in one. it'll be better than the oem one you're talking about.

FWIW I retrofitted the factory shaker sub and I'm perfectly happy with it for what it is.

I retrofitted the factory sub in my car and would highly recommend not going that route, I found it to be underwhelming and not worth the effort or cost. I sold it quickly and just recently purchased the JL audio stealth box based on everyone's recommendations. There are cheaper routes you can go, but the stock one is a waste of time.

How much did you pay?
@chowman90 Crutchfield Canada has them for $599. It's a much better option than the overpriced Stealthbox and it will outperform it as well. I bought mine from Visions Electronics because I had a $50 coupon but they had to special order in from their JL distributor.

Got it:

I won't know how it sounds until spring. Too cold to work on the car in the garage.

Looks nice. How do you have it secured?
Thanks. I am thinking about how I might bolt it down. But I want to do it in a way I can remove it with minimal fuss. Open to suggestions.

I like the factory look, so I put an aftermarket sub in a factory enclosure into my base Mustang. Much better than before.
