Forged cf takes pieces of cf and is pressed into the resin, whereas twill is weaved. Here is a picture of forged cf.

Ha, we are on the same page. The day Terrance announced this product I told him I wanted to paint it black. I have no CF bits and pieces anywhere on my 500 and not going to start now. As a side note, I actually am not a fan of the way any carbon fiber looks anyway. Terrance told me the Matte Twill would be my best option for painting his python vent so that is the way I’m going.

The standard 2x2 twill is what you find in most carbon products, including the factory carbon dash. If you are planning to have it flow with other carbon on the market then that is your move.
