We get winter gas here too but I still have the rumble. It's not as nice as on summer gas but still have it.

Did you recently get a tune put on the car?

If not, I'd unplug the battery for a half hour to reset the fuel trims and hopefully get things back to normal.
Yes it’s had a map recently

Hi,

For a while now the sound of my 2019 Bullitt just seems to have gone quieter, it’s lost its “rumble”, the exhaust tone sounds like one continuous tone, lost its burble and clarity, not as crisp, lost the pops on overrun or they are there but sounds like the whole exhaust or car is enclosed inside a box and you’re listening on the outside to what’s coming out of it, like it’s dampened down ..difficult to explain...very muted sound.

it still pulls ok, some days I’ll give it some gas, push it hard and something seems to clear, the sound almost comes back for a while albeit still not as crisp as it should be, start it the next day and it’s back to being shit again....

Car has done 17k miles in a year, varied driving conditions.

Any ideas what could be causing this?
Also have a 2020 Bullitt and had exactly the same experience as you….
sometimes it would sound great and then sometimes it would run well but the exhaust note would sound off…
Want to know what it is ??.

it’s your timing advancing….
Try using shell power 98 For a few tanks at least.

the way I found this is out was because I had a tune installed and noticed the timing wasnt advancing much and the car sounded a bit drony.

Hi Mikeyboy
Did you finally find the issue ?.
I’m experiencing the same with my Bullitt. Can’t explain it but the sound is just off. Like yours sometimes it’s a nice crispy burble but then it goes to shit again sounds plain and linear.
I’ve noticed it sound best just before warm up and sometimes it’s stays.
but you shut of the engine and it goes back to shit again.

let me know if you found a solution ?.
Cheers

With all the BS going on in the world these days I'd suspect fuel quality is way DOWN.......especially in Europe??:curse:

Have you checked, if the valves are still closed in quiet mode?
Maybe at least one of the valve positions is incorrect.
Somewhere I have read something about this, but I am not sure if it was here or in the German forum.

@Coosawjack
They don't sell off-spec fuel in Europe.
You are more likely to get something "better" than you paid for, e.g. E5 instead of E10.

Im not sure I haven’t tampered with the valves.
The only thing I did do is unplug the valves when I installed an H Pipe. Do they need some kind of procedure when they are plugged back in?.

I don't know, but i know for sure both valves are closed, when idling in quiet mode.
Likewise, the valves should be fully open at idle in track mode, meaning they should be perpendicular to the exhaust stream.
If they are not, that's something to investigate.

Think I’ve solved this one.
Mikey boy what time did you have put in your Bullitt ?.
I bet your using 98 fuel ?.
try a few tanks of 95. Depends where you got the tune. Mine is from the states. Been putting 98 in it and saw the timing advance wayyyy to much to the point where the exhaust had a kind of linear sound to it without any rumble.

filled her up with 95 and suddenly the exhaust is back to how it used to be. Without the tune I’m sure the 98 is ok but with my particular tune 98 didn’t damage the engine but the exhaust was sound off.
Hope this helps

Sorry that’s European Ron.
Basically 87 in the states. 95 is better than 87 slightly but 93 is 98
