My mustang has just over 1800 miles on it. My rear tires are both at 6/32 (left is closer to 7/32). (fronts are both at 9/32)

I am an adult driver and do not do burnouts, slides or any of that stuff. Maybe I take an exit ramp fast once in awhile, but I am really not abusing this car. In fact, I was really mindful of breakin during the first 1,000 miles. Really babied the car for the first 1k.

What type of tire wear are you guys seeing on the original tires? At this rate I doubt I'll make 4,000 miles on the stock rear tires.

EDIT: To clarify, these are the original Pirelli P Zero 255/40/19 275/40/19

I think my tires were at the same depth at around 4k. I drive like a grandma for the most part, but do accelerate quickly from time to time with no wheel spin.

Rears on these cars are known (owner reported) to last about half as long as the fronts and most of use are seeing no more than 15K miles, usually less on those rears. I got about 12 off of my rears before a nail forced me into replacement but I didn't have much left on them at the time anyway. I'm the same, I probably drive it harder than you but never a burn out or "race", but I'll slide it around a corner.

I am approaching 16k miles and I still have factory p zeros for perf pack. Im tuned with e85 and headers and by no means baby the car, but I dont do burn outs. Still have decent tread left.

My rears made it to 6.5k with two days of HPDE duty and a handful of autocross events. The track time was notably destructive. Yours should last longer.

You might want to check your rear toe alignment settings. You want a little toe-in to keep the rear tucked while applying power out of a corner, but too much will accelerate tire wear.
