Haven't been able to find any threads about this yet but does anyone have any clue where the EU Mustang will be build ?

Will they be build in the US and shipped over ? Or be build in the EU ?

Would assume they will be build in the US because of experience and the cost of converting factories for the relatively small sales numbers outside of the US.

+1 on US. I don't remember if it was on these forums, but I asked a Ford HQ rep about this and he told me all Mustangs will be built at Flatrock.

Yep, Flat Rock is a very flexible plant and I'm sure they have more than enough capacity there to cope.

Despite the cost of shipping, I also wonder if the (comparatively) low wages of the Flat Rock staff aids the (again, comparatively) low build price of the Mustang in Europe. If it was built here, I'm sure it'd be more expensive.

Mind you, Jaguars and Land Rovers are build here and are STILL cheaper to buy in the US, despite the shipping! But that's another story.

I'd love to tour Flat Rock. A friend of mine and I are visiting Detroit in August so we'll do some research to see if we can get in there :)

Another reason I read some time ago is, doesn't make sense to buy an american icon car... built in Europe :)

I believe the ecoboost engines are made in Spain though.
I remember a news some time ago that also the engine production was moved to US.

Excellent. Good spot.

Bit ironic though. Early US 2015 Mustangs have a Spanish ecoboost; European 2015 Mustangs have a US engine.
